I calculated many things under 10 sec ( I'm shocked how i did) First i thought of sacrifice Queen for h3 pawn and then when g2 pawn takes i fork the king and queen but i realised that i am down a knight I also calculated sacrificing knight to open up king and checking with queen when king moves g1 i give check with h1 rook knight has to take rook or its gonna be checkmate so knight takes then i take knight with my d8 rook and Queen has to block or it's checkmate again when Queen blocks i take queen with my rook and then again bishop is forced to take my rook or its checkmate so The following position would be I am with a queen and a knight and opponent with 2 rook and a bishop with ugly pawn structure (I guess it's equal? Or probably better for me because knight and queen duo is Always better in any situation+ i personally feel that a queen is better than 2 rooks especially when white king is not safe it's more simple position for me to play) So ya the moral of the story is I didn't spotted any checkmate
I really appreciate this well thought out response! I’m still learning to calculate and really think of positions in a more concise and all encompassing way. I still find myself thinking of a move that would be cool and doing it. Do you have any calculation tips?
Idts I would've played that but I did calculate the correct sequence of moves after the knight move. I'm awful at calculating chess too, I'm like peak 850 rapid and completely washed now.
I appreciate the comment! I really need to work on calculation. In this position, I thought it was a really good move, when in reality my opponent could have just moved the queen and had a better position 😂
I don’t play like this every game, ain’t now way I’d get to 1500 rapid like that. Sometimes I do play hope chess to keep it fun. Sacrificing pieces is the best part of chess.
It’s rather hope chess. Yes if they take then you’re crushing, otherwise they can easily sidestep the threats
Yeah, if they don’t take, it’s a fairly even position. I just missed the backwards knight move that certainly would have won the game.
I calculated that sequence, but couldn't figure out what to do if white doesn't captures the knight :/
It’s just not good then
Yeah, the move just doesn’t add much. There was a much more forcing move on the board.
I agree. It’s a wasteful move, could have improved my position a lot of different ways.
I found it immediately!
