GeoWizard Challenged Me to a 1v1 on the HARDEST Geoguessr Format

- I had the pleasure of collaborating with the true Geoguessr OG, @GeoWizard. He had the idea that we would play 100 rounds against each other, to see how many rounds each player gets closer. I was up for the challenge, and it was very interesting to see how many each player got. I hope you all enjoy this special video :)

Its insane how much Tom inspired people to get into geoguessr. You can probably attribute well over half of geoguessrs success to Tom, fucking incredible lad. (Also as a side note, I felt like you were a bit starstruck, which was a bit cute lmao(
i feel like all the geoguessr success could be contributed to geowizard. Almost all popular streamers/youtubers who play/played geoguessr started because of him (zigzag, rainbolt, ludiwig and a lot more)
should rename his channel to GeoDaddy

@@taranova2605 Of course, but without that kickstart it would have been a lot smaller and people would be a lot less interested to grind. It could have been that rainbolt never went on geoguessr if it wasnt for the wizard
@@taranova2605 Rainbolt made the competitive / meta play more mainstream, while GeoWizard introduced it to most people (like me)

The biggest collab in the history of GeoGuessr! GeoWizard still amazes me how he can get so many rounds even without knowing a lot of metas.
He’s so intelligent - I don’t know what he does outside of TH-cam but if he spent the amount of time the pros do who knows what would happen lol

Latest geowizard video teased a collab and I was pretty sure it was you, glad to be right :)
It is amazing how far the game has come since we were all watching the wizard all those years ago. I love that even though his skills are far from the top players, he is still admired. I play geoguessr frequently with my students in class, passing on the joy of this game and learning the world. That would never have happened without Tom.
I've waited for this dime!!! Such an insane collab, especially knowing Oscar was just a GeoWizard Fan like most of us were back in the day. He really was the reason for so many people to start playing Geoguessr, same thing happened to me and eversince I was hooked. Played nearly 20.000 games in total and started reading docs for hours and hours every single day for multiple months to really get good at this game and all due to Tom basically. This collab is legendary!

14:50 There are two regions in NL, Amsterdam (well the randstad region) and "urban". Everything is so standardized it is impossible to tell where you are on a round like this without place names. Dikes, waterways, flat, etc.

I like to think in terms of MMA; Rainbolt is like the McGregor of Geoguessr, massively increasing its popularity through huge channels like TikTok and leading to more money and eyeballs coming in, but GeoWizard is like the Royce Gracie of Geoguessr, none of this would exist without him

The pick in Switzerland where you were confused about the languages was in Pontresina which lies in a region called "Engadin" where people used to speak Romansch but now it's leaning more and more to German. Also a good travel tip - some of the most beautiful nature you can find.
