As a tabletop war gamer and aspiring Electric Football coach this was awesome to watch. It’s surprisingly fast paced between seeing what’s going on during every stop and making adjustments within a short time limit…y’all had me sweating and I’m not even playing. Impressive gameplay by both coaches and a ton of fun to watch. Makes me want to get an ultimate board all the more. Great video!
@Electriccoach I was watching near the end and it went from 21-21 to 21-26. I went back and watched, obviously someone's math was off until he fixed it a couple of minutes later. So no FGs/XPs?

Passing sticks do a couple of things. One, the ball placed on the board allows the defense to make a play on the ball. Two, sticks help those who aren't proficient at using the passing QB.

6:01 was definitely a catch. This reminds me of when I played... it was ALWAYS one calling the misses and catches wrong. Lmao! Good game! But all of this adjusting the players AFTER the catch is not how you should be playing. Just pass... If it's complete, let them go in whatever direction everyone is going after the field was stopped. Example: Explain how a man angled out towards out of bounds, with a millimeter between the base and the out of bounds line is going to catch it, and turn up field. That should be the equivalent to a diving catch going out of bounds, instead of pointing the man back in bounds after you complete the pass. In a real game, he would either catch the pass and run out of bounds, or get his footing and catch the ball as he's falling or diving out of bounds. But overall, good game. I will say yall are pretty accurate when passing. The looser that triple threat qb's arm is the better the passing precision.
In an effort to capture the realism of game play, the receiver is turned up field as a real player would do. During passing plays, the defense pivots unengaged players so that they would pursue the ball carrier like a real football player is supposed to. All-in-all, we don't just let our players go wherever when the board is turned back on. That's why the game got a bad rep back in the day when people all over the country were playing.
@@Electriccoach lol. Maaan, let em run. Once you touch that man, with the exception of the QB when you're passing, you've disturbed the whole play naturally playing out. When you say bad rep/rap, I'm not sure what you mean, because the game was awesome back then; I never really heard anything bad about it, except from the people who didn't have the patience to play and couldn't pass. Lol. Still is an awesome game. Do you guys have tournaments in different states?
@@myfirstjs8357 You have been away from the game too long. Yes, the game has a bad reputation nationwide. Simply allowing the players to just go is what gave the game a bad rep. I am still trying to understand rules that most play by but I have hand painted my offense to look like the Maryland Terps in the throwback scribe uni. Would love to find a group to play with that is somewhat casual to start.
We get calls like this throughout all of our tournaments. I haven't watched the video since I last posted it. I think I remember the play. It was a completion. Because I am not a ref I can't make the call during the game. I am the self-appointed camera man. HAHAHAAHAHAAH!
Yall playing this game ALLL wrong! why are yall moving the men around after the set is turned on? Do they pause a real game to put me in better position in the nfl?
In a real game, the players on the field react as they should, such as pursuing a ball carrier. In an effort to simulate the natural reactions of real players, the game-board is stopped to allow the figures on the board to be adjusted. So no, we have it right. You don't understand.
@@ElectriccoachI clearly understand we had leagues in the 80s playing this game y'all have takin the game and changed it and made it easy to score. we had to use our BRAINS and plan out plays to score.
At 19:15 when the interception was thrown, the defense had 12 men on the field. Should have been a free play for the offense... the missed penalty cost Adrian that game.
No we don't use dice in the T.O.C. Although there are moments when the pass can't be determined as complete or incomplete, we use the QB to pass because dice are for amateurs. We don't apply rugby rules to this game because pitching the ball over the board is reckless and irresponsible play. As in real football, we run the ball and pass the ball.
Yeah 6:01 was 100% a catch. Watch in .25 speed
I had no idea yall were still playing this. I feel like I'm 11years old again. I bought my son a set 15 years ago. He played once. 😆 have fun fellas

The completion argument makes passing sticks a good idea. The coin toss was called at just the right moment.

Looks like it would be fun without the rules lawyering and cheating old dudes. That was a catch.
There was no cheating going on. We run into these calls all of the time. I am working on getting a system that will help to reduce these issues.
