Perfusion CT made easy - everything you always wanted to know about PCT in acute ischemic stroke.

- Almost ten years ago the MR Clean Study was published in the NEJM, demonstrating for the first time that endovascular thrombectomy was a safe and effective procedure in patients with an acute ischemic stroke in the anterior ciruclation due to a large vessel occlusion. It changed a lot, including the diagnostic imaging approach to acute stroke patients. Perfusion-CT is now performed in most patients presenting with a (suspected) acute ischemic stroke, but remains a topic of controversy and debate, especially concerning patient selection. This extensive presentation, which can be watched under the form of five shorter separately uploaded videos, provides an overview of the PCT technique, how perfusion parameters can be explained by understanding the pathophysiology of stroke, and how it should be read and analyzed. Enjoy!
