We need more of this approach, to so called pop music. Neu! and the Wonderful Cluster, come to mind, oh, and Harmonia.

Are they using the same card deck as Brian Eno's (the oblique strategies...) or is the whole thing entirely different?

No, they are not using Eno's deck, it's a related idea, but these cards are all made specifically for EN and related to the band, instruments, the way they work, inside jokes, etc.

I think it's very obvious how heavily they were influenced by Fraktus…
It's a pity their music isn't as interesting as their instruments. It's just the simplest banging in repetitive rhythms, while Blixa Bargeld sings very banal melodies similar to German Schlager music.. True Avantgarde music is like Mike Oldfield's Amarok. Look what can be done with musical form.
