If people are watching the show and falling in love with the show’s portrayal of Jesus, but not reading their Bible’s and falling in love with the Jesus shown throughout the OT and NT, there is a problem.
Then It's a good thing that people are falling in love with reading their Bibles again from this show! Because that's what's happening! People are coming back to God after watching!
@@beaberean3286I fully believe that God is using the show to draw His sheep to Him; but we should not discount the dangers of people falling in love with the story and Jesus being portrayed in the show, only to be disappointed when they realize that the Bible does not have many of those same scenes and lines from the show.
@@SincerelyHannah9 but isn't that the point to get them to read the Bible? So where's the danger if they can then filter the show through the authoritative lense of scripture. Maybe they won't like what they read but they are then encountering the gospel which is able to save their souls. Don't you see, it's not supposed to be a Bible replacement...it's Bible based entertainment used to drive people to seek God.
@@SincerelyHannah9 I think those who end up disappointed with what they read, may not be on the path to salvation anyway. So it's not like this show is doing God a disservice. His word is still true and powerful enough to save

As someone who was new to the Bible and had not yet known the Holy Spirit, this show TOOK me directly to scripture because I needed to know more. 2 years into God’s Word I am grateful and so thankful for The Chosen. Argue and spit all you want but it will never change the amazing goodness of the series without which I would not now or possibly ever have known Jesus.
The Chosen brought me to God. 8 or so months ago, I was feeling depressed. I was up and down. I was experiencing a lot of anxiety and uncertainty. I am 37 and have never read the Bible. I did not grow up in the church and only knew a little about God from the handful of times I attended Church with my Grandma or friend. I watched episode one and felt like I was being pulled in. After episode 3 or 4, I turned off the TV and went to find the Bible my Grandmother gave me 15 years ago. There was a bookmark that said "1999" to give you context, lol. I read the Book of Matthew. I cried, and I felt a deep sense of joy and peace. I started praying. I started listening to Christian music. Then I finally joined a church, and then a life group. Each step of the way I felt closer and closer to God.... Things started happening that I can't explain... My heart started to feel full... I don't know why... I don't know how... my anxiety went away. And when I do get an attack, I call on Jesus, and I feel peace again. I can stop awful thoughts from consuming me now. I am a sinner. I am not perfect. I am a work in progress. I don't deserve His blessings. But I will never go back... Thank you, God, for never giving up on me! And if you're reading this and have never read the Bible or dropped to your knees to ask for help - I urge you to try it. It's okay if you don't know ANYTHING about God... I thought I did, but I did NOT. It's OK if you join a life group and have never read the Bible - because the people there will be so happy to help you! They will guide you, they will pray for you, they will root for you. I love you. All things are possible with God. May He turn to you, and may you feel His love because when you do.... you'll forever be changed. 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Yes. We cannot tell if something is not real unless we have the Real Thing to compare it to. People seem to have gotten bored with church, bored with the Bible, have to be entertained. But we *must* know the Word of God. The Bible is not boring! Worshipping and learning at church is not boring. It's also not supposed to be entertainment. I took a friend to my old church I thought was too liturgical and dry. But going back, thinking how many people in the world were singing the same old songs, reciting the Apostle's Creed, and taking communion meant so much! I loved and was so glad I brought my best friend. He said I don't like it. The music was lame. Sad.

@@clearstonewindows James 1:5 has nothing to do with the Book of Mormon. When read in context, it is speaking about the various trials that the early Christians were going through. (The 12 tribes were never lost.) James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
I have had MS for 25 years. Each year gets harder. Early on, i asked God to heal me, IF IT WAS HIS WILL TO DO SO! My request of healing was not answered; however, I understand why. With this chronic disease, i can truly understand suffering of others, and can be a true WITNESS of STILL trusting in God, His love, care, and his powers, DESPITE my condition!! We are all called to bear our "cross". And i will continually praise, proclaim, and thank Him for what He has done for me throughout my life! Amen! ❤
Amen! I agree! I had a major stroke 16 years ago. My whole left side was paralyzed. After 5 weeks of rehab in the hospital I walked (with a walker) out. I used to pray for healing but I've come to the point of acceptance and I praise God every day. I KNOW He has a purpose for my life and I trust Him! ❤️🙏
That scene with Little James really resonated with me. In May of 2019, I was diagnosed with throat cancer. I was told it was a mild cancer and had an 85% survivability rate. I was also told that there was a small chance of a relapse. If it did come back, it would be terminal. About q month after I was declared cancer free, test showed it was back. Two oncologist told me I had four months to live with out treatment and nine if I fought back. Jesus had a third option. He had my pastor gather up some men from church and performed an anointing ceremony in my hospital bed. My cancer was healed. Nearly four years later, I am still here and on paper healthier than I was before my illness. There were some consequences though. My throat and jaw muscles were damaged from the radiation treatments. I had to have a trach installed and a feeding tube. I've been on a diet of Ensure and water for nearly four years now. I often wondered why Jesus didn't heal all of me. The scene with Little James answered that question. When someone with my obvious medical issues can go out and witness to the lost, it brings even more glory to God. Sure I miss food sometimes but it never took my joy away or my faith. God is good and has provided everything I need. I am truly blessed. All glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your comment; it gave me a lightbulb moment. Our life and our walk with the Lord are to point to the authority and the glory of Him, and that is what I "see" in the testimony you wrote.
I suppose you may have tried everything already, but in my own healing journey (not cancer, but damaging to the throat) I felt that L-glutamin powder in water really healed the cell wall. I still have to be careful with strong acids like lemon, vinegar, etc. I trust God with whatever He decides, but I also always have hope that He can heal us both miraculously and with the bodies and food He's given to us. Thank you so much for sharing your story, and I'm so glad that scene with Little James made such an impact. I was crying too.
Are you telling me that you think Jesus wouldve denied healing to someone even one time? What about that whole spiel about belief and moving mountains ? We have to throw it out now. The truth is we have complete dominion over everything because Jesus gave it back to us and its through our belief , just like the woman with the issue of blood, that healing comes. Yes i struggle with this but i really believe we need to stop speaking death over ourselves.
That's awesome! A guy at our church was in a car reck and had fluid on his brain. Doctors first said he wouldn't live past so many months, then when he did wouldn't walk. He now is the head of visiting those in the hospital and home bound. Walks fine but has a hunch, joint issues and has to be careful with his balance. He pointed out that the folks he's ministering to are more likely to listen the way he is than if God healed him completely!
I know these series are touching people's lives, my son and wife forwarded the link to me and said you've got to watch this. He said they've watched the first episode 4 time and cried each time. My son was raised in the church but drifted far away when he told me what a impact the first episode had on them I had to watch, I give God all the glory my prayers have been answered.
Your example of your son being impacted by The Chosen after drifting far away from the faith is one of the blessings of this show. I pray he and his wife will now search and study God's word. If 99 Christians don't want to watch this show because their lives are fine without it, good for them. But if this show brings back one lost lamb the angels are rejoicing! As a result of The Chosen many who have drifted from the faith are now reading their bibles again, along with many non-believers who are now reading the bible for the first time and learning about the saving grace of Jesus. This is wonderful too!!
@@stevereason6931 my husband has taken an interest again that he just didn't have before we started. All those Devils that are whispering to the religious folks seems to have found a home. Jesus couldnt stand religion...look how he talked tk the pharasee. His frustration at his followers not understanding. It's all there. People get so bent out of shape because they portray Jesus how he probably was instead of this stiff, formal, pious person. Piety is religion...as in the unclean spirit that likes to twist the truth of the gospel. It's a stumbling block and turns people AWAY from God. I love the chosen. It shows the RELATIONSHIP. It's arguably the most important factor because without the relationship, people aren't coming to Jesus.
Being hyped up by emotionalism is not evidence of faith. A person can cry at a movie but it doesn't mean their hearts are changed. If the Gospel isn't enough to move someone in their spirit, but a show apparently does, then what is the actual basis of their faith? In situations like this only the fruit, and the longevity of it, will evidence a real conversion
I'm 83 years of age now. Raised in the RLDS church as 4th generation. I pulled away from attending church in the early 80s because of farming bankruptcy and divorce. I did a walk about to many cultures and explored their teachings. I landed on native American teaching and found a cause and purpose. With the death of my 43 daughter just before Mother's Day 3020, and covid lockdown and the global spiritual battle... I was spent, braincells and heart battered and brised... I sat with mt tablet looking on Facebook. I fell into the production scene of Simon and Andrew fush segment and what it took for the scene to be so. I started binging The Chosen and FOUND the Jesus of my childhood. I've watched everything I could about the production, purchased merchandise and now donate monthly. The series is a talking point in many of my daily conversations. Thank you
I found the show after I started reading the Bible as a newly saved Christian. Watching The Chosen alongside reading the Bible has really really helped me put everything into context as a very visual person who is new to scripture and the gospels. I thank God that I was led to watch this show, there is no way I’m alone in finding a ton of value in watching and learning.
I love your comment. This is exactly what I experienced. As a visual person as well, this show helped me read through the Bible. I can put a face with characters and get an idea of setting when I am reading the Bible. This show was not my replacement for the Bible, but it was a great addition to reading. God Bless

I really appreciate this interviewer. She is able to present and interview in an open way that allows the interviewee to express himself while she asserts truth within the interview in a good constructive way.
This show has inspired me to read the NT chronologically, probably something I wouldn’t have done had I not watched it. It’s all for an audience of 1 but God is using it to reach so many more, thank you for being obedient to His calling.
The Chosen is by no means perfect, and there are creative choices I wouldn’t have made, but boy does it have a lot of heart. I can critique and love it at the same time, like any of my other favorites. It’s clear that everyone working on this production is pouring their heart and soul into it, and the “emotional payoff” moments bring a tear to my eye every time.
PixelGarden I notice you refer to the ‘heart’ and ‘emotions’…are you aware that “the heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)? It would be far better to compare this series to what the scriptures actually say.

I have not seen this show but I'd like to now. We have to remember that it's not a documentary. It's entertainment. Our job as Christians is to know our Bible. Know the Word, be in it every day. I like how Dallas says everyone needs to know their Bible on their own. I see this show as a way to reach unbelievers who are watching AND in the cast. We don't know how God works or His plans.
@@nicolcacola how is this careless? It's Bible based entertainment....no different than veggie tales or superbook that we set our kids in front of so they don't have their eyes burned out by Coco melon and other terrible shows
My biggest issue with Dallas is that he seems to be unaware of the major theological differences between Christians and Mormons if he is saying that we believe in the same Jesus. I worry that his lack of understanding of these fundamental issues may affect how biblical his show is Edit: I think Dallas has to understand that while the Mormons believe in the same historical Jesus (so we can agree completely on the ministry and life of the Biblical Christ), they *do not* believe in the same Christ who by nature is the eternal, uncreated Lord God, one with the Father and the Spirit, coeternal and coexistent. This is of eternal significance because Jesus said “unless you believe that I AM you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). You *cannot* get the deity of Christ wrong. He is not a spirit offspring of Heavenly Father and mother who became a god-He is the one and only God who is without a beginning or end of days! Kudos to Allie for clarifying that Mormonism is not just another sect of Christianity👏
It hasn't and it wont dallas has never claimed that he endorses the entire mormon faith as a whole. Please dont assume that the individual mormons that dallas is talking about are not always people who believe in the whole idea of godhood and manhood evolution and a whole bunch of other things. Is mormonism different, yes? But its irrelevant to the show. The mormons made an app they have never changed content.
@@theinvestigativemillennial9381it’s really dangerous when major evangelical figures try to cozy up with Mormonism though. I know that individual Mormons don’t believe that everything the LDS church has historically taught; but to act as though Mormonism is just another sect of Christianity is EXTREMELY dangerous because it gives people a false sense of security. The lds gospel and Jesus are completely different from the true saving gospel and Jesus. We must draw lines because souls are at risk here
Precisely. And I commented similarly, but I'm long winded lol. The LDS church serves a false christ. One who is created, not the Creator. One who is a spiritual brother to Lucifer. Christ is fully God. He has no beginning and no end.
@@theinvestigativemillennial9381 irrelevant to the show? The mormons believe Christ is a created being! That's a massive difference and a salvific difference. They are deceived and yet they approve of this show.
I wish people defended the Christian faith with the fervor and zeal that they defend Dallas J. and “The Chosen”. I wish people were as deeply moved over the fact that God incarnate was born, lived among us, never sinned, went to the cross, drank the cup of The Father’s wrath on our behalf, died in our place, and rose again on the third day conquering Satan, sin, and death. Jesus’ work on the cross made reconciliation with God possible. The Bible is the greatest story ever written and it needs nothing. Open your Bible and God will meet you there.
Couldn't agree with you more! I am simply flabbergasted at some of these comments from self professing Christians. It is clear they have more excitement over a tv show than the Word of God itself. I can't count the number of comments I've read where people say it took The Chosen to get them to read their Bible. As if the divinely inspired, inerrant word of God itself wasn't enough to stir the soul but Dallas Jenkins production was. If it takes a tv show to get modern Christians to read their Bible then that is a massive problem.

Season 1 was borderline amazing, 2 and 3 weren't as high for me but they got into a lot more detail and nuance that really sucked me in, season 4 gaius story arc and romans going bonkers while the pharisees go partisan against each other.... that'll be amazing. I have confidence that they're gonna go all the way.
@BiblicalTRUTHToday do you understand it was a joke? Also kids aren't effor free. They need raised, corrected, disciplined. If you're saying Jesus skipped that, i think you missed the point of his birth.
The Chosen is a truly wonderful show. It introduces people to Jesus. Gets them excited about knowing our Lord and Savoir. If people just watch it and go no further that is on them. But if it pushes them to read the Bible and learn and start a relationship with Jesus then it’s a blessing. And that’s the case for many people who watch the show.

I know your heart tells you that we’re all wrong about it, we don’t live it well enough and all that whatever you want to say. But read the entirety of the New Testament while also reading some commentaries if you need, then tell me it’s the same belief as the Mormon teachings. We love you, but Mormonism isn’t christianity. If you want THE Jesus Christ who is THE way, THE truth and THE life. Read the New Testament, the earliest and most reliable source of information on the GodMan who lived some 2000 years ago. Not some other book or prophet who comes hundreds of years later. This isn’t meant to be an insult It’s a call to truth, a call to Christ. Hello from Barbados 🇧🇧 I love hearing the story of how Dallas came to where he is now..."it's not your job to feed the 5,000; only to provide the loaves and fish" God is great and greatly to be praised!
Great specific questions about the Mormon Jesus vs that of the Lord we read of in the Bible. I have to take Dallas at his word, and I hope he doesn’t end up being bad in the end. May God be pleased to use the show if he wills!
@cindybin2001 Acts 17:24 “The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands. All angels including Lucifer were created by Jesus, so he cannot be His brother.
There is no "Mormon" Jesus. Latter-day Saints worship the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The blonde woman in the video severely mischaracterized the church's beliefs.
The man playing Jesus is Catholic and encourages people to pray with the rosary and to pray to Mary. According to the Bible, that makes him a false prophet.

I love Jesus, I love the Bible, I have read it all my life and I love the Chosen and I am still a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I struggle with 2 things when I watch the show: 1) the lack of reverence-- too much of the focus is on how casual and cool Jesus was, and 2) the adding to-- and taking away from-- the Gospel that we are NOT supposed to do. I get that Dallas is adding context but I really struggle with how much he's adding. idk
I agree! What is missing to me is his Magesty! The old film Jesus of Nazareth, in my opinion, presented Jesus with respect, honor, and dignity. The Chosen is a completely different presentation. It is another artist rendition of Christ. At the end of the day, the producers will be held accountable as we all are for what we do with the good news of Jesus Christ. I believe Dallas and the other creative writers have simply taken a more down to earth approach to make relatable the "possibilities " of what it may have been like to live with Him and serve others. In the beginning, Dallas made it very clear it was a use of creative license along with scripture. I do not like the series, but I know it has encouraged many to seek Jesus Christ in the Scriptures The Bible, not the Book of Mormon, or other books out there. 🙂 Having said all this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has produced, in my opinion, a very accurate film on "The Life of Jesus Christ," according to the book of Luke. KJV Bible. It is done very beautifully. Though they also use artistic license in this film in a couple of places, for the most part, it is verbatim of the Gospel written in KJV. You can check it out on TH-cam, under channel called wildwood. 😀
I hated how they portrayed John the Baptist. I also hate how John the Baptist was mocked repeatedly by Peter. Jesus Christ said John the Baptist was the greatest prophet of them all. Sad! This show aims to deceive.
@@romandaigle455To flatly state that the aim of “The Chosen” is to deceive is slanderous. The aim of this program, from its conception, is to present the Lord Jesus respectfully, authentically, and true to Scripture. “By their fruit, you shall know them,” the Bible says. Not only by comments here, but in messages sent to the creators of this project, people worldwide who never understood the Gospel are writing to say they have found salvation through believing Jesus Christ is indeed LORD. The Scriptures don't say a whole lot about most of the disciples, but they ALL had back stories, and The Chosen presents possible scenarios that we can relate to. This season will will be about the COST of following Jesus. I've learned a LOT about Jewish life at the time, and the show connects the Old Testament with the New. It is amazing, moving and relatable.
Yes! The show brings color and dimension to the people and stories of the Bible. It's hard to really enter into the life of Scripture from words on a page, as powerful as the written word is. If you have read the Bible your entire life, like me, and yet have struggled to relate to stories and events that took place so long ago, this show helps. I know Jesus, and I know scripture, and this show is true to the spirit of who Jesus and what it means to follow Him. Don't strain at a gnat and swallow a camel by nit-picking.
@@stephaniecouncil3909 So God just didn't give us enough in His Word? God didn't realize that we would "struggle to relate" to what He gave us? I don't think the problems in this series are "nit-picking" when there are some deviations that can give people very false impressions.
The Bible is NOT about the disciples or even about human history. The Bibe is about Christ. I think you got it all upside down and are still in a un-repented state. Thank you Allie Beth for your powerful witness to the truth of the gospel through your podcasts! Love watching & listening to all the different dialogues & guests. The Chosen is one of the best series on the stories of Jesus❣️It is being used by God to further His Kingdom for sure. PS: I am in class at PABC with Tim & Katrina-sweet friends 🥰
GREAT video. VERY well done. LOVED the way Allie tackled the tough controversial issues and questions. That said, I must say this. I don't know how anyone can watch that clip of Little James & Jesus and not LOVE the show. I get torn up every time I see it and I've seen it countless times. Misty-eyed even now as I type this. SO BEAUTIFUL and SO well done! Absolutely masterful in the way it was presented.
My best friend became a Christian recently. She has been watching The Chosen with her daughter and they love it. I'm glad there is something wholesome for them to watch
Please encourage her to read her Bible and get it know it so well, and intimately, that she can ‘spot’ differences between how it is written and the creative license taken in The Chosen.
@cindybin2001 You seem lively enough to humor me with a question Ive had for a while about the LDS…what’s your answer to the fact that the worlds leading theologians and Bible teachers affirm that what Mormons believe is not the Gospel of Christ and is false teaching/heretical? Im asking seriously, not to attack your beliefs or anything, but Ive wondered to myself over the years, “what would it take for me to accept that what I have put all my faith in was false?” The answer I’ve come up with is that experts on that faith (Christianity) would be able to convince me if I were in wrong understanding. So I guess, if I were LDS, and every Bible Scholar on the outside of that religion/denomination agreed that it was false teaching (or any other faith practice, not exclusive to LDS) I’d like to think I’d be able to believe them. Now here’s where I attempt to show you the Truth…I have had several studies and many talks with members of the LDS (one of my best friends is LDS), and I’ve come to understand that the teachings are not Biblical. I can understand accepting the idea that further revelation was given, but I can’t accept that a new revelation would ever contradict or change God’s historical Word/the Holy Bible, which the BoM does. Are these things you’ve given thought to or concerned about? Or, maybe you have an answer for? Again, serious questions Ive had in my own contemplation, and not an “attack” on you or your beliefs. So, if you’re willing to or can answer, thank you. If not, thank you anyways ;)
I too feel stronger in my love toward Jesus since i saw the Chosen and it icreases more ans more each time i watch the chosen. You have a ton of converts from this phenomnal show. Keep it up God is at your side. Thank you .Sister
I love that he said that about people being labeled. It's true. Talk to the individual person before you place assumptions on someone. This stands true with all walks of life as well.
Thank you for doing this interview. I am not persuaded to watch The Chosen again but am grateful to have heard Dallas Jenkins rebuttals to controversies. You did a wonderful job with the interview Allie!
@cindybin2001 may I ask what it is specifically that you felt Allie doesn't understand or got wrong? (I am a Christian who has studied LDS theology deeply for many years and am genuinely curious.)
Well, one example: around 27:50 she said that "I AM the law of Moses" is not from The Book of Mormon (which is true) and that the statement is "not also a direct quote from scripture." But The Book of Mormon IS scripture.
@@amandadangerfieldpiano if you’re a Bible believing evangelical Christian we don’t think that anything added to the Bible or separately written is scripture and the Book of Mormon contradicts scripture therefore disqualifying it
I’m a “Mormon” (member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and I love how Christlike Dallas is and loving and leaving the judging to God. Allie is completely wrong about members of my faith and what we believe and what we know and how we live. Jesus is the center. We are not earning heaven… we are learning heaven.
That's absolutely right. We believe that through the grace of Christ's atonement, we should follow Christ and become more like him. That's our theology.
Read second nephi 25:23 and compare it to Ephesians 2:8 and 9 in the Bible. I challenge you to read the Bible from cover to cover for a season without reading other books.
Thank you Allie for having Dallas on here; so glad for what he has done with “his loaves and fishes” to bring forth Chosen and keeping it moving forward no matter what😊❣️
Thank you for giving this brother a chance to answer directly many of the rumors and even slanderous things being said regarding his personal character and his project. I see the perspective of “artistic liscense” and his not wanting to be called Christian programming to be his way of delineating between factual content and that which takes artistic liscense with scripture as its main reference point. I worked in film for over a decade, and so happy to see the point brought out ( that many criticize ) that those involved in the cast, crew, locations & sets that were rented ( mormon owned ) somehow discredited the whole show and content! This is absurd! Allie herself even admitted involvement with non Christians and that in no way shapes her content /as long as / they keep a backbone and fear God over man! As long as Allie, Dallas, and any others are in total control of writing the content being made...and Dallas directing that content through talented but unbelieving actors...this show may not only be used by God to draw viewers to Himself, but those working on the show also! Praying that this series will continue to lift up Christ as foremost our only hope causing many to believe in Him for salvation He alone can provide , then as a result search the scriptures to know Him personally!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
With all due respect you do realize their are two executive producers that are LDS and a Chosen advisory spiritual advisory board made up of LDS and Roman Catholics. These are facts you can look up yourself. And to think this is just some “show” like the Simpsons or Family Guy and should be treated similarly in terms of “creative license” is preposterous. I’m sorry my friend, but if anyone wants to present Jesus to the world, you better darn well be presenting the correct one, God is a jealous God. Why else would you do it in the first place? We’re warned not to go beyond what is written for a reason (1 Cor 4:6) specifically in the context of not leading people astray to follow after others. The definitive proof of what is happening with Dallas is he has partnered on a very spiritual and Biblical matter with people with a different Jesus and a different gospel. Dallas is deceived and sincerely deceived at that, he needs prayer to get out of this mess and stop deceiving others. I care enough about you to stop and tell you the truth, God bless.
Thank you very much for your answers. I am passing for a questionable situation, and when I misplaced my focus in results, I get discouraged. But when I remember that I am obedient and my job is working for HIS glory, I calm down. Gracias for reminding me that I have to keep giving my best fish and gratest loaf of bread. GOD bless you.
After viewing all 3 seasons and most episodes several times, this says to me The Chosen is a first rate series in a class all its own. Dallas is an extremely gifted writer, producer, and director. Many scenes and many moments are special. The fact that many people start reading God's word and searching the Scriptures for themselves is in its favor.

My two biggest hesitancies when it comes to this show.... 1. "95% of the show is not directly from scripture." (In the words of Dallas) 2. They are literally putting words in the mouth of God. Things that Christ never said or did, they are putting out as truth.
"Things that Christ never said or did" We'll never know for sure because not every conversation he had was recorded and the show, as Dallas stated operates from a point of "is it plausible" when dealing with something that isn't from scripture.
Ethan, The Chosen is a painting, not a photograph. Do you not know the difference? If you don't, avoid ALL art forms. God uses different means to reach different people. The individual salvation paths vary greatly. The destination is the same, the manner differs. Trust God.
I love the chosen. It has brought me closer to Christ. I also read the Bible. Awesome scripture. Member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. ❤️
Thank you for using the full proper name of the Church. I am struggling with how to address the offensive slang in this interview. Dallas really tried by saying “LDS” but people need to know we do NOT worship Mormon. We are members of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints ❤ Thanks for your comment.
I hope you don't read the Book of Mormon or the Pearl of Great Price or all the other publications of LDS-- false teaching with false doctrine. I will pray that God reveals to you that you need to leave the Mormon /LDS/Latter Day Saints organization and get under a covering with correct doctrine for you and your family's protection and well-being.
When Jesus says "I am the Law of Moses." I connected it in my mind where Jesus says,"You search the scriptures daily for in them you think you have eternal life, but they are those which testify of me." I think its saying the same thing. He's the Word in the flesh. The Chosen is having such an impact and I love hearing the personal testimonies! Blessings CAS
Dallas, you are amazing!!!! God bless you. I have never seen anything close to the Chosen. I feel that you have taken me back 2,000 years back to re-live the Bible. Keep up the loaves and fish coming and continue to let the LORD feed the millions !!!🙏🙏🙏
I love watching the Chosen and look forward to each episode. Dallas seems to unify people who belong to different religious groups, instead of trying to divide them. We are all God's children and Jesus Christ reminds us to love one another. Thank you Dallas for being a good example.
I wish we could all be that way. I loved how he talked about how we all have a story. That is so true. Much better to look at people in that way instead of labeling them and suggesting they are not as Christian as you. I was disappointed in Allie.
And that is the problem. We are to have unity in truth. The Mormon Jesus is definitely not the Jesus of the Bible. I am guessing that you, like Mr. Jenkins, don't know that. Mormon Jesus: created being; spirit brother of Satan; polygamist... Mormon Jesus' father: also a created being, who has sex with his own wife--creating spirit children, i.e., Jesus, Satan, us... How did Mormon Jesus get here? God came down from his heaven and impregnated Mary... Don't believe me? Look it up. Also, having lived and worked with Mormons (great neighbors & co-workers, but horribly lost), I can tell you that they do not believe in salvation through faith. They have salvation through works. And, they they get baptized for dead people. They keep detailed genealogy records so that they can get baptized for those who have died--which somehow helps get them to at least some level of heaven, even after death... One of their favorite sayings is this: "As man now is, God once was: As God now is, man may be.” Mormons--lovely, wonderful people. Lost and on their way to a Christ-less eternity. And while I believe that many Catholics are saved--despite belonging to a church that has theology that contradicts the Bible (and they just don't know it, because most Catholics never actually read the church's doctrinal beliefs)--but the Catholic Jesus is also not the Jesus of the Bible. The Chosen promotes meditation and prayer with Roumie, who advocates addressing prayers to a dead man--Padre Pio. I will just stop there.
I now understand how people could be deceived by wrong doctrines when it comes in the guise of unity. You would have been totally put off by the real Jesus who was warning against the wrong doctrine of the Pharisees. He brought so much disunity!
He does seem to be really thorough in only pushing the biblical themes and narrative driven passion, not specific dogmas attached to them and not denominational extras at all. I was really worried that Mormonism, Catholicism or Judaism were gonna push out the unfiltered Jesus - so far so good.
We are NOT all God's children - only those who have come to God through faith in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Remember when Jesus called out the religious leaders of the day and said they belonged to Satan? We are all God's creation, but until we are born again, we are NOT all His children.
My friend was a part of the feeding of the five thousand, and I helped with his costume. We have sensed all along that this is not Dallas’s project-it is God’s, and he’s involved so many people that need to know the truth about Jesus. What an amazing opportunity for Mormons and Christians to be around one another, because we carry His Spirit, and I know He’s full of surprises and full of love for those who are lost.
I highly recommend this series. I have to admit I passed on it initially because I thought it was going to be cringy. Boy was I wrong. I’m loving the show, it just tugs at my heart strings. 💕💕
This show is for the glory of God. To glorify Him above all. The themes and story of this series are as relevant today as it was 2000 years ago. It touches the soul!
This is an aside. Dallas mentioned the miserable failure of “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone”. It’s one of my favorite movies. The acting was good, the script was great and the message was spot on. It was funny, spiritual and compelling. I guess we wouldn’t have the Chosen were it not for the Gavin Stone failure, so I’m glad it struggled at the box office. However, I’ve watched the Stone movie multiple times and always enjoy it. I truly don’t understand why it was a failure because it was a quality film. Keep up the great work, Dallas!
The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is truly one of my all time fav Christian films. I wonder how he's measuring it as a failure. Even my dad like it when I recommended it to him.
I actually had never heard of it and wonder if it was simply a failure to promote it properly. Will have to check it out for sure. As you say, I was thinking how interesting that without that failure, it wouldn't have led him to making The Chosen. I don't watch it myself, but certainly love how it has brought people back to their Bibles!
@@Jessica_Jones Virtually all opening day failures are a failure of marketing. If a movie is objectively good but has a poor opening, that's on the studio, not the film. If it has an odd premise or seems cliché, the marketing needs to overcome that perception.
@@jsharp3165 I know some films also only release in select theaters so I wasn't sure if it was something like that. But yeah, a real shame when it happens to good gems!
I enjoyed this podcast and love Dallas’s heart and humility. He has clarified so many times “This is not the bible or a replacement for it!” If people choose to get their theology from the Chosen, rather than the bible, I don’t believe that is his responsibility. No human has a perfect interpretation to the entire bible, so the only option that involves no risk, is not making the show, and I know for a fact, this show has led many people to a genuine belief in and relationship with Jesus.
Great conversation!! I really appreciate Mr. Jenkins, he's an inspiration in many ways for me as a young Christian man. God bless you Allie - you did an awesome job. God bless!
Allie- I love how clear and specific you were when addressing Christianity vs Mormonism. I almost think that Dallas purposely doesn't want to know or understand the theological and dangerous differences between the 2 in order to keep funding or stay in their graces as the production company is an LDS company. I would think that if some of these people are close friends that he has prayed and labored with that he would want them to know the tru gospel . This is an issue of salvation and not a mere disagreement on secondary issues.

the chosen has had me googling all sorts of new questions about the bible and going back to scripture to learn more about Jesus. it helps me "humanize" all the biblical stories I've grown up hearing and see Jesus in another new perspective. no matter how you portray 15h of film of Jesus based from the Bible, there will be someone who disagrees with things (me included), but above all, I am so grateful for the show and it's impact. It has drawn many away from the woke and secular entertainment industry and caused a lot of people to open up to following Jesus.
I’m really sorry I read the comments. So discouraging to read how people respond. No wonder the Church has such a hard time making an impact on the culture. Too busy throwing insults at each other. I appreciated the interview, Allie. Thanks for having him on.
This is a channel heavy on theology. There are plenty of channels here on TH-cam that are favorable to the show that you can check out. Here, you’re going to find people using discernment. It’s not loving to let people be led astray by a fictional, portrayal of Jesus Christ just because the show is popular and makes people feel good.
I disagree that it’s “just discernment.” I find many of the people’s comments unkind and not allowing that sincere Christian’s can disagree on whether or not to watch this show. I am ok with heavy theology and use discernment. I am ok with the show when understood in the correct context.
@@rachelpatch well when people write stuff, you can't tell real well if they're being mean or nice, that's one of the problems with just writing stuff. I don't have a problem with the show's content- I don't think Dallas Jenkins will put anything Mormon in it or at least I hope not. I just worry about him fellowshipping closely with Mormons ( or LDS) since the Word says not to do that. In 2 John, verse 9, it talks about people who are not in the correct doctrine of Christ( those not in the correct doctrine of Christ would be Mormons , also called Latter Day Saints, it could also be Remnant Fellowship or the Jehovah Witnesses or any other cult that has false doctrine about God and Christ.) . Then in verse 10 ( there is only one chapter in 2 John), it says not to receive them into your house ( and I would think that could also mean to not let them into your life either- as well as not let their doctrine, literature or teachings in). Then in verse 11 of 2 John, it says to not wish them Godspeed, lest ye share in their evil deeds. see also Romans 16:17
If you are a believer in Christ and don't watch the show because you have determined you don't need to, that's perfectly fine. There are millions of Christians who do watch and many support The Chosen and see the benefit as many have testified they drifted from the faith and are now back to reading their bibles because of the impact of The Chosen. There are also a plethora of testimonies of non-believers who are now reading the bible for the first time because of watching The Chosen. We can rejoice with the angels in heaven when a lost lamb is found again.
@@DefenderoftheCross quite odd you don't care that more people are reading the bible....no one is claiming it makes you right with God, but the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, so getting into the word is one step closer to their need of a savior....
@@beaberean3286 God can use anything to reach people, BUT that does not mean we put garbage out there simply because God can use anything. How many more people are getting a distorted image of Christ because of this show?
@@DefenderoftheCross I'd say not many are getting a distorted image of Christ, unless you consider a gentle, thoughtful, sometimes funny and sarcastic Jesus a distorted image...but again that's all relative. We honestly don't know much about Jesus' personality...so how can you say that your idea of Jesus personality is any better than anyone else's idea? Unless you see yourself as a gatekeeper of ultimate truth and that if someone doesn't agree with your interpretation then they are wrong? But that in itself is pride because no one has perfect theology and doctrine.
I just found this show and the few clips I've seen were startling! I've often contemplated what the scenario of Jesus' life looked and felt like in those times and this show seems to bring it to life! I would NOT expect a TV show to be biblically perfect and from what I've seen so far I think this was beautifully made!

It’s blown •way• out of proportion, but it’s easy to see where they get the brothers thing, as we do believe that, before his rebellion, Satan was a spirit child of God the Father (just like the rest of us, so he’s the brother of all of us too😉). It’s probably just overly emphasized because it sounds more bizarre and scandalous without context.
I watched the first 2 seasons and loved it. I then caught an interview with Jonathan and at the end he led people in praying the rosary and still another time he was on a commercial advertising that he would be praying and for anyone who wanted to, to join him. Because he is Catholic, it will be easy for him to influence people in joining his church. Fans really do love him...some have taken it to idolatry. The Catholic church is a works-based religion and do practice idolatry. Praying to anyone other than the Father is sin. I can no longer watch the show. I am enjoying it, as that many if not all the scriptures that have been quoted in the Chosen are many of my favorites. I am able to support the show through prayer and would love to financially but are unable too. It really is very good. I believe that God will use this for His glory!
As a long time listener, thank you for your pursuit of truth. As Christians, we must stand shoulder to shoulder as brothers and sisters in the faith… in this battle, we cannot afford to take time splitting hairs over exact points of deep theology. As a Christian, and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ , moving forward, our conversations need to be focused on the common ground we share, acknowledging Christ as the Savior of all, and the being we both strive, albeit imperfectly, to become more like in this life…the one from whom we both seek redemption, hope, mercy, and strength.
Latter-day Saints are not Christian. Joseph Smith was very anti Christian. According to Joseph Smith, Christians are deceived by Satan, have the spirit of the devil in them and are anti Christ. "All the creeds of Christianity are an abomination." John Taylor said that Christianity was a perfect pack of nonsense. Christians don't believe the first lie of Satan - "Ye shall be as gods." They also do not deny their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and say he is a created being the brother of Satan. If you read your Bible, you would know that you aren't a Christian.
@@joanneliddle4559 A Christian follows Christs teachings, and strives to do as He did. That is as much a part of my faith and beliefs as anything else- so much so, it’s in the official name of the Church. Though we may disagree, if you also strive to follow Christ and become more like Him, then I’d be humbled and grateful to stand by you as a fellow Christian!❤️
I love The Chosen. Obviously one shouldn’t substitute any Christian media for actually reading and studying Bible. But this show doesn’t replace the Bible. It brings it to life and makes us want to know more. It’s a great witnessing tool and jump off point for those who are seeking.

The Bible CLEARLY states not to add or take away. “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” (Deut. 4:2.) This show is warm and fuzzy, heartwarming and everything that makes people feel good. Which is why it's so dangerous. I watched the first episode of season 3, and I was so disappointed. Most of the whole episode is complete make believe. And because it makes people feel good, they want to believe what they are watching. And can you ask Dallas why he uses satan as a advertisement?
That Satan advertisement is so disheartening. I was hoping Allie would ask him about it, but she may not have even seen it. Many people are unaware of that advertisement.
excellent interview. The constant onslaught of criticism of Dallas & his project are demeaning, but hearing Dallas' reminders of his personal motivation really restores my enjoyment of his work & my faith in his intentions.
Sister, we are going to be judged by the evil we caused and by the evil we allowed to happen. When someone does something to exalt God's name.only God will judge that person. God bless you.
The spirit of transparency that Dallas carries as he undertakes this huge production is quite admirable. Anyone who watches the show and complains has only themselves to upset with. From the the first episode it explains the intention and to always go back to scripture and read for yourself. Every interview I've watched Dallas in he's been very clear on what is scripture and what is artistic liberty. It's a great show that is getting many people to look back in their bibles and I support that 100%. Side note: I love Matthew's character!
The Chosen has blessed my life beyond words and I speak for my entire family. The Chosen encouraged me into the Bible more deeply. It is very interesting that the real true portrayal ofJesus flushes out the Pharisees. We are warned about the leaven of the Pharisees. The Chosen sure has revealed Phariseeism so prevalent in many of the churches and in so many of those claiming to teach "truth." If you are blessed by The Chosen, don't let the Pharisees kill your joy and intimacy with Lord Jesus. Jesus had/has WRATH toward Pharisees
I find it interesting that many people tell LDS people what they (the LDS)believe in without reading the Book of Mormon . I love the Chosen, it has brought me closer to Jesus.I love Dallas and admire the fact he’s not afraid of having LDS friends.
I have both read LDS teachings as well as spoken to many Mormons. Mormonism is straight up blasphemy from the Word of God. It goes 100% against scripture just like Quran does and so on.
The chosen show is not to be taken as word for word scripture. I know scripture and I do understand the differences and it doesn't change my Belief of the true Word. The additional content doesn't make me worry that new or not yet believers are learning these "extra" things and missing the point of who Jesus is and his love for the lost. As knowing the words of Christ and studying them allows me to enjoy the program and it sometimes helps me visualize the love Christ has to his people. So if you question any content, read the Bible and clarify your concern. Then and only then will you grow closer to Christ.
39:00 I am a catholic and what Dallas is talking about with the show, is exactly what's happened to me. the show has led me to get out my Bible, read the new testament front to back, and seek out a personal relationship with Jesus and God. I never worshipped the church as the intermediary between myself and God, but thanks, in part to the show, I've grown in my faith.
Thank you! I saw a few TH-cam channels against the chosen but they played clips w/o context. I was drawn to yours because it was a full interview. I believe he was sharing his heart. I'm glad he has moron friends and I hope he's able to witness and influence them and their beliefs on the subject of Jesus.
Unless he pulls some crap last season I don't think any tricks are coming. He's kept it very far from any denominational or doctrinal bias that I could perceive. It's way better than anything else on television.
The Chosen opened my eyes and heart. I loved reading the Bible, but often didn't understand what I was reading. Dallas encourages us to read the Bible. To compare what what we saw on the Chosen with the Bible. I love seeing the clothing, the homes, the foods, it helps me picture the way things were in Bible days. I have studied the Bible more than ever since watching the Chosen. I believe the Chosen is God Blessed
The clothing, homes, foods etc are fine, the issue is making the characters say things that were never said in the actual Bible. That’s the only but huge problem

If people are watching the show and falling in love with the show’s portrayal of Jesus, but not reading their Bible’s and falling in love with the Jesus shown throughout the OT and NT, there is a problem.

@@SincerelyHannah9 but isn't that the point to get them to read the Bible? So where's the danger if they can then filter the show through the authoritative lense of scripture. Maybe they won't like what they read but they are then encountering the gospel which is able to save their souls.

I encourage people to read and learn the Bible on an ongoing basis, AND spend time with the Lord, to discern for themselves what is Biblical.
Amen,
Sad.
@griffinmathers929 it's not supported to be entertainment but it's not boring?

I have had MS for 25 years. Each year gets harder. Early on, i asked God to heal me, IF IT WAS HIS WILL TO DO SO! My request of healing was not answered; however, I understand why. With this chronic disease, i can truly understand suffering of others, and can be a true WITNESS of STILL trusting in God, His love, care, and his powers, DESPITE my condition!! We are all called to bear our "cross". And i will continually praise, proclaim, and thank Him for what He has done for me throughout my life! Amen! ❤
Thanking God that he gives the faith to many like you to testify for him! You are an inspiration to me!
Amen!
@@840kat I totally relate to that. God knows what He is doing and how He wants it done. Your friend is truly blessed. Praise Jesus.

God is good!! Hallelujah!!!!

The Bible should never be used for "entertainment," especially to the point of taking "creative license" with the very Word of God.
Praise God! Dallas and the Chosen team are doing work for God’s Kingdom that is nothing short of incredible!
My biggest issue with Dallas is that he seems to be unaware of the major theological differences between Christians and Mormons if he is saying that we believe in the same Jesus. I worry that his lack of understanding of these fundamental issues may affect how biblical his show is
Edit: I think Dallas has to understand that while the Mormons believe in the same historical Jesus (so we can agree completely on the ministry and life of the Biblical Christ), they *do not* believe in the same Christ who by nature is the eternal, uncreated Lord God, one with the Father and the Spirit, coeternal and coexistent.
Exactly! If he can't discern that then other issues will ensue!

@BiblicalTRUTHToday what transgression, what quote? You gave me nothing to work with.
@BiblicalTRUTHToday how was that sinful?
@BiblicalTRUTHToday Luke 2:41-52
@BiblicalTRUTHToday do you understand it was a joke?
Also kids aren't effor free. They need raised, corrected, disciplined. If you're saying Jesus skipped that, i think you missed the point of his birth.
Great interview Allie. Dallas did a wonderful job explaining the tv show.
The Chosen is amazing..it has made me grow closer to Jesus and see things in a different way..the scene with little James and Jesus talking about his healing had me bawling😭showed me that just bc I havent recieved my miracle when I want it doesnt mean God isnt good or that He is not working..God is still God nomatter what circumstance I am in..
See things in a different way other than the Bible? That's not good.
@@Veracityseeker7 not what I said at all..lol
Kudos to you Allie for having this dialogue.
@cindybin2001
lol take your hormone stuff elsewhere. We Christians don't regard you as Christians. You cannot be part of our community. We will always call you out.
@cindybin2001 Mormonism isn’t Christianity, it’s theology seems to contradict pretty openly the Bible.
This isn’t meant to be an insult
It’s a call to truth, a call to Christ. Because once someone rejects an opportunity God gave them to know the truth, the responsibility will be on them to bare the consequences of that. So please think carefully 🙏
@@LiveForGodStudios "... while also reading some commentaries ..." That says it all. You need the commentaries (opinions of sinful humans who aren't prophets or apostles) to unsee the teachings of Jesus Christ's church in the New Testament.
@@Hamann9631 isn’t your opinion also the opinion of a sinful human? Contradiction here is apparent, read your words twice before sending them our friend :)
Mormonism has no Biblical basis and contradicts basic scripture, basic doctrine at all facets. A distortion of the truth and a mountain of obvious lies made to appeal to the sinful appetites of many
By rejecting the true Gospel. Jesus Christ is the one true God, and Mormonism pretends to understand Him better than the very disciples that walked with Him and made Him known through the Gospel
Prove me otherwise, I’ll be waiting friend
@@LiveForGodStudios The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a sect of the name of the head of the church named in the name of the church.
Our position isn't the our heart tells us you don't live it well enough. The Holy Ghost tells us to follow Jesus Christ and we do. Why would you think we don't want to leave Jesus Christ because of your sins?
You proved The Bible doesn't disprove the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by saying it needs commentaries to convince me to leave Jesus Christ. "But read the entirety of the New Testament while also reading some commentaries "
My sins and lack of prophethood would matter if I told you reading The Bible and my commentary would convince you.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a basis better than a Biblical basis. It has a God basis. God called His prophets for our dispensation just as he had in the past.
Us not accepting your false interpretation doesn't mean we are not accepting the words of Jesus Christ's apostles. We accept all truths they taught and have modern prophets who have spoken with Jesus Christ too.
Why call Jesus Christ "GodMan"? It sounds like you are denying His Godhood.
We follow Jesus Christ who is The Way, The Truth, The Light, and The Life. Your lies don't change that.
We pray for him and let whatever happens happen
No. It’s. Not.

There is no "Mormon" Jesus. Latter-day Saints worship the Jesus Christ of the Bible. The blonde woman in the video severely mischaracterized the church's beliefs.
Im on the 2nd season and I'm really enjoying it, so far. The man that plays Jesus, is doing a fantastic job. They're all great actors.
The man playing Jesus is Catholic and encourages people to pray with the rosary and to pray to Mary. According to the Bible, that makes him a false prophet.
I love the chosen. For me the characters help me to identify more closely with their various characteristics. Jesus chose people who were very different so you could see yourself in them and know even though we fall short He still loves us!

Having said all this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has produced, in my opinion, a very accurate film on "The Life of Jesus Christ," according to the book of Luke.
Your deceitful claim that “The Chosen”’s purpose is the deceive people makes you accountable for having disobeyed God’s command: “You shall not bear FALSE WITNESS.”
@@carolanneposey5211 He was talking about one issue! He hated how John the Baptist was mocked repeatedly by Peter when Jesus Christ said John the Baptist was the greatest prophet of them all. That was what he felt was deceiving. And if you've read your Bible you'll agree that nowhere in it did Peter mock John the Baptist. You might want to not judge others.

Best interview! Y'all covered lotsa the "bases" in the clime today that will bring peace and answers for people watching this and want to give the show a chance. I am one of those who loves that the series is making me look at my Faith in a new way. I have gone seeking and searching in a renewed mind, in a revamp mode, because of the "what ifs" in this show, and it has blessed not just me but my whole family already, even though I am the only one watching... so far. Thank y'all for following The prompting of Spirit who never boasts of Himself, but speaks only for The Lord of Hosts, and bless us all in this season of Jubilee.
Just claiming that you learned about Jewish life, from a show? That's another level of wilfull ignorance right there. Spoon feeding is for babies. Think about that.

@cindybin2001 The Mormon Jesus is not biblical
@cindybin2001 If you were to read your Bible, you would know that you have a false Christ.

Allie, what made you so well spoken while interviewing people? You are so good! Such a blessing, thank you!!
@robrule2693 Yeah. I think that was expressed in Deuteronomy. I'm glad we didn't stop there.
@robrule2693 It’s really hard to have a civil discussion with you. You did say you were a Christian, right?

"Slanderous things?" More like just criticism for someone whose theology includes Mormons loving the same Jesus Christians do.
@cindybin2001 If that is the case, then to prove it, would you mind providing the LDS gospel so I can compare it to what the Biblical gospel is?

My two biggest hesitancies when it comes to this show....
1. "95% of the show is not directly from scripture." (In the words of Dallas)
2. They are literally putting words in the mouth of God. Things that Christ never said or did, they are putting out as truth.
If it's so bad quit watching. It led me to the Bible. Sure, there is poetic license but the basic premise of Bible is the same...unchanging.
False teachers stay away from
I’m confident in my Biblical education. Big whoop it’s not line by line Bible. Is God glorified? Yes.
"Things that Christ never said or did" We'll never know for sure because not every conversation he had was recorded and the show, as Dallas stated operates from a point of "is it plausible" when dealing with something that isn't from scripture.
Ethan, The Chosen is a painting, not a photograph.

Amen! God is trying to save the lost! Dallas is a willing vessel!

Gonna have to watch it 👍🏻
The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is truly one of my all time fav Christian films.

If people choose to get their theology from the Chosen, rather than the bible, I don’t believe that is his responsibility.

How many are in church? How many are now born-again believers? How many are reading the actual Bible?
@@rachelpatch I disagree-- a lot of it is discernment about the LDS organization, who are also called Mormons.
you can't tell if they're being unkind by writing, like you can by what someone says on videos. I think it is mostly just discernment about Mormonism.
I hear all the concerns about Mormonism, and nothing said about Catholicism. Jonathan is the main character and holds much control. The Catholics must love this opportunity!

Unfortunately, you believe in a different god.
Christians don't believe the first lie of Satan - "Ye shall be as gods."
They also do not deny their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and say he is a created being the brother of Satan.
If you read your Bible, you would know that you aren't a Christian.
Mormons are not Christians and Christians are not Mormons.

The chosen is an excellent conversation starting point. The scriptures are the source, but films such as this lead to healthy discussion and learning.
Let's remember The Word and Jesus IS fully sufficient. Do not add one more word...or make up scenarios as though it is The Word.
