Hi, where can i find a bootloader dump for this board? I flashed a wrong firmware and now when i wire the board to the mks sbase 1.3 its bricked (black display, no backlight and no blue LED on the back)
Hi, perhaps you can help me. I bought souch a display, but it doesnt communicate with my Ramps. If i meassure the TXD Pin with my Oscilloscope there is only a 5V Signal without communication. I tried to find out where the pin is connected to the µC. I found no connection to the µC. The only connechtien i figured out was to two resistors at the left side of the connector. Can you meassure out at one of your boards where it has to be connected to? Thanks. Perhaps i have also a defective wire at my board ;)
I've quickly compared the two displays and could not see any difference in component locations, their values or track layout. But I have not analyzed the entire board in full detail.
STM controller is not locked. Let's not give the manufacturer this idea :) So yes, you can read entire flash area from the chip. I will have to see if it differs from published firmware available for download. It seems that downloaded firmware does not contain full code. i think the part of firmware which displays "booting" message and checks whether SD card contains new firmware update - this part is not included in downloadable release. Yes, you can read entire flash but it will only be useful on another MKS TFT board. Other TFT display boards have completely different electronics and this firmware will be useless for them. But if you have another MKS TFT display that is defective, then you can try reflashing EEPROM like I show in video.Interestingly, the same firmware seems to be used for 3.2 and 2.8 inch displays. i think maybe the bootloader (part that doesn't get updated) contains data about size of display of this particular unit that you have. Or maybe it does not matter if pixel resolution is the same. I'm not familiar with 2.8 inch boards.
Most likely 2.8 and 3.2 inch TFT displays have the same TFT controller chip. For 3.2 inch display the chip is ILI9328, 2.8 inch displaymost likely the same or similar (i.e. ILI9325). I ported PanelDue firmware to MKS TFT32, have a look if you interested: github.com/robotsrulz/MKS-TFT
Hi Artur, Well that bytes the big one! I would go to the mfr website and request an RMA , Ebay purchased or not. Their board failed and they are accountable. You sound tired my friend...summer is short, enjoy it as much as you can. PS...I hope there's another multimeter video around the corner.. 8-)
