As a gay senior, married to the man who complements me for 13 years and together for 28 years, the father of a 52 year old daughter, grandfather of 4, I love seeing the evolution of true love stories on Hallmark. This one struck a familiar chord. Raised by a family who allowed me to be who I was meant to be, not what they wanted me to be, was uplifting. To see this quality in both families gives me added hope for all parents to allow their children to be the totality of their being! Kudos to Hallmark and to all the actors who help to portray life as being more enriching through the greatest human quality of all...The Ability and Quality of Love.
I've watched it 4 times on Hallmark and check their calendar of shows to find it again. It is on next Friday the 30th at12 noon and I will watch it again. So proud of the station for doing such a great show. The main couple are great actors. Finally!
Thank you Hallmark Channel for finally making the gay characters as the leads (instead of the goofy sidekick.) Hallmark Christmas stories are so formulaic that I knew what was going to happen from the beginning, but it was still fun to watch.

I don’t know if it was deliberate, but Bennett acted like a maniac and had crazy eyes for much of the movie. Took me right out of the story. He was better in the Christmas House films, even though they too are pretty camp.

These Hallmark Christmas movies are not "queer" movies, despite having gay characters and ostensibly gay romantic stories. They are conceived, written and marketed primarily for a female audience. Yes, that's right - women who get off on watching guys in romantic scenarios (but definitely no sex, or even the hint of sex, which is just too confronting for these women). It's a huge market, and one already well established in the romance novel world (look up M/M romance novels - gay romances for women). If you're gay and wondering why these movies have such lame romances and gay characters who are deeply conservative, family-values types, this is why. Enjoy them if you want (or can), but be aware that this is essentially exploiting gays for the amusement of straight women.
@@ozvoyager Yeah, I can definitely see that too. Even "queer" relationships in a lot of the tv shoes nowadays does that as well but in an "opposite" way, I guess? I'm all for FINALLY having some freaking diversity in American tv shows but it completely fetishizes "queer" romances for straight women. Every time the gay couple is on screen it always has some sexy lip-locking or half-naked scenes. In one season of a show I watched with a gay couple had sex scene maybe 8 times the entire season and the other two straight ones mentioned had 1 maybe 2.
Usually same sex couples can adopt or hire a surrogate mother to have the baby for 9 months, usually they acquire an egg cell from someone and use either of their sperm to fertilize the egg.
