Exactly. As a Chelsea fan, if there's anything I've learned about the UCL, it's the fact that you must strive to be perfect. If you make many mistakes and miss chances, you won't get away with it like in league games - you'll get punished.

Man City would of won most of those games if they had a number 9, yes they had Aguero for a while but he was prone to injury. Jesus is not a pure number 9, this is how they won the UCL with Haaland

    • @vik24oct1991
      @vik24oct1991 ปีที่แล้ว

no goals were never their issue, they scored tons of goals in all those matches, it was the nerves in defense which made them lose, haaland did nothing in semis and final this season yet they won because their defense somehow held it barely, next season they will be more confident after winning it once.

The Lyon and Napoli loses hit hard for me. Because on paper we were easily the favorites. But those teams were offensive juggernauts. By the time of the choke against real madrid I was already used to losing in ridiculous ways, so I wasn't pained much by it compared to the others where I cried. This is the first time I have watched any of our loses from Champions league knockout round.

  • @opetimistic

I also think it's a lesson in endurance and never relenting.
I'd rather see it as Man City tinkering and taking incremental steps towards their dream regardless of how many heartbreaks they got.
Pep Guardiola, Lady Luck and a few others were the missing pieces, and eventually with persistence it paid off and came even better with a treble.
Ironically, the UCL final they won was one they would have deservedly lost if they had lost.
This sums up trying again and again, and failing better.

    The Sergio Aguero theory
After moving away from manchester City, he joined Barcelona before having his career unfortunately cut short.
The season he was last at manchester City they lost the league title to liverpool. The season he joined Barcalona, they were in a financial crisis and failed to win a trophy. The argentina national team was desperate to win the world cup, but after hearing that arguably their best forward, aside from messi himself, had to retire... all hope seemed at a loss.
However, for whatever reason, the season after Aguero retired, this current season just gone- a miracle happened.
Barcalona beat heavy favourites, and current Champions league winners Real Madrid in the league to lift yet another league title and help Barcalona financially to build a more stacked squad to help them in the upcoming season.
Manchester City, Aguero's biggest club in his career finally broke the curse, they won the champions league, FA cup and the premier league to complete the first Treble since Alex Ferguson with Manchester United, a first in over 20 years.
And finally the argentina national team. They broke their curse, after failing to win the world cup final in 2014.. all hope seemed lost, but with the power of aguero in the crowd, he spurred on argentina to lift their first world cup since Diego Maradonna himself back in the 1980s, to crown Argentina as the best team in the world.
Since Aguero has retired, the season following this happened
    Man city
    Fa cup
    Premier league
    Champions league
    Barcalona
    League title
Much better financially than 1 season ago
    Argentina
    World cup
Sergio Aguero has blessed his former teams with a power that no one has ever seen before.
    Sergio Aguero, what a Legend
