I never would have thought to use the curl formers. It's such a smart idea. It came out beautifully. I'll have to show my perm clients this. They will love it.

I have wavy hair and have been thinking of doing something like this on my hair. I would totally have someone else do it (I am a cosmetologist). My research reminded me of perms that air dry instead of using the neutralizer. So the perm solution breaks the disulfide bonds and then you just rinse thoroughly and blot the curl forms. Leave them in to dry all the way. After they have air dried you can take the forms out. This way the hair gets less damaged and the perm lasts a lot longer.

Nice job! I heard it here first, perms are making a come back! Off subject, but I've been researching Orbiting Halo Infrared Hair Color Processor/Dryer.I've never used them before, but they seem to do a much better job at processing longer hair more evenly and faster. Do you have a recommendation? Thanks Jamie!

It's going to last like a regular perm. It depends for each client how long it will last, so unfortunately, I'm not able to predict how long. But most of my clients come back every 6-8 months to get it done again depending on the integrity of the hair.

Sage Jacobsen you can go back to the salon have have them put perm solution back on it at the bowl and just comb through your hair. It loosens the curl. Just make sure they comb comb comb!! It’s called a reverse perm!

How did you go about making sure that the perm solution fully penetrated the hair ?

The product goes right through the rod! You can tell when it is fully saturated.

Hey Anna. I don't give out color advice here because so much for that depends on what you see in person. I would recommend finding a stylist on instagram and having them take a peak and offer suggestions!

I don't think her hair turned out that great. Especially the front sides not very curly.

I have way to much hair for this. I’d look like I have an Afro.
