As soon as I first heard about BLACK MYTH WUKONG I started saving money for it especially if it would have a collectors edition and that was years ago so as soon as they announced it was ready for pre-order I brought the collectors edition and deluxe edition because I'm a hardcore collector sadly I was sorta disappointed that it won't have a disc but plenty of games aren't having any and I'm fine with it. And I have the standard edition on my PS5 wishlist and decided to give the codes to my youngest son and nephew for doing well in school(both are straight A students) and I wanted to reward them for their efforts and use the other one when it's available on my wishlist..sad thing is that I was getting a LOT of hate just for thinking ahead and saving MY money for whatever want to use it for. A lot of people are crying about the lack of a disc but that doesn't worry me I'm just ready to play it and when it does get a disc(since they said they would work on it) I'll get one. That's not what the dev means! Black Myth Wukong by the director/dev said that there are "the darkness veil, when he fought these unknown demon" this is in account to the tale of the Monkey King in China. Sun Wukong defeated these demon and that's what the director is focusing on. The times Sun Wukong fought these unknown demon in the "darkness veil" tales that are not expounded on. It's not that the monkey we're playing is not Sun Wukong. We are playing the inexperience, still learning, still growing Sun Wukong defeating demons to obtain enlightenment. So if anyone keeps saying it's a clone of Sun Wukong. . .it's not
Doesn't make a lot of sense because the monkey we see at the first gameplay travail has the real ruyi jingu bang with the "As-you-wish gold-banded cudgel" inscription we also see the battle in heaven which was before wukong got sealed this wukong is either a clone or another monkey(because there is quite a lot of them in the mythology.)

When his clone tried to kill the demon Sun Wukong came and stopped him. The player probably merges with Sun Wukong after that, but we don't know. The black veil is just a retelling or story that Sun Wukong is probably recounting and we're playing as him
This is the only type of game I have no qualms pre-ordering. There have been nothing but praise for this game from all who tried it and The Journey to the West being one of my favorite childhood tales. I don't care what IGN thinks, even though they are writing hitpieces on it, while simultaneously farming it's gameplay for views.

Thank you for doing this because apparently those gaming media reviews didn't even bother understanding the story of Journey to the West and started talking nonsense. Love your video and will definitely buy this game, the graphic, the art, the content and story truly amazed me! Only thing that I hope is the subtitle translation which could be difficult to translate and understand. (I'm female gamer btw, dont think how this game is sexism.but im sure other female gamers out there are waiting to play!)
Temper your expectations. The number of bosses will be massive, but that not necessarily goes to exploration and level design. Some previews say that the areas between bosses are very small and with little things to do/discover. Nevertheless, it's a fact that Black Myth: Wukong looks absolutely superb regarding graphics, art direction and battle mechanics.

The only thing that worries me is that the enemies dont block or react defensivly to your attacks. They just take the hits then go into their attack animation.
Yea, it's kinda similar to MH, where the monster might act based on character's positioning, and finish it's action before the next, but not "react" based on players current action/attack (like what you have in Elden ring or sekiro)
Pretty much like every action game almost tbh lol. Very few action games actually have the enemies react properly to your attacks and simply be huge damage sponges.
If I honestly hear someone call a game "Soulslike" one more time just because it's got a dodge mechanic or has even a little difficulty to it I'm going to lose my mind. To hear anyone say that this is actually not a soulslike is a breath of fresh air!

Elden ring has amazing combat in the DLC with the new weapon sets. Also this game is spammier yhan elden ring- less skill requiered by using smart frames. This will be a decent game. Elden ring will remain one for the history

I always like customizable characters with visual change in game play ( with character ). I’m also looking forward to finding out the many stories of Wukong they will pull from. It looks and sounds fantastic.
Nice video! Chinese gaming sites reviewed their 2 hours gameplay saying that they gathered 11 boss fights in the begining region alone. As 6 regions already shown in previous trailers, there could be 100+ bosses in the whole game. But anyway, all speculations

I just put like 200 hours into ff7 rebirth. It was the best game I have ever played in my life. I know jrpgs aren't for everyone but rebirth is the apex, until remake part 3 comes out whatever it will be called. Wukong looks good, hope the combat and story can compete with rebirth. The new standard has been set, and it was on UE4. Time will tell if anyone is on par with square Enix and the team making the remake trilogy.
Rebirth was the greatest game I have ever played thus far in my life ( Combat was amazing, adventure sucked you in and made you want to find everything, story and character building made you feel part of the entire story which hrs clicked away without being noticeable ).... Wukong looks great but I will not spend a dime unless this has a physical disc.... I will Never support digatal only/ rental games!! Digital is nothing but a scam to take our money without allowing the gamer to OWN the game itself... I have zero care how beautiful this game can be if it can be shut off anytime the publisher decides and you all lose your money!! I will take a physical disc even if the support is shut off I can still play and own the game anytime I decide.... that said if the devs / publishers does make physical copys then I will own this new platform... we will see!!
The developers have said that they intend for those less-familiar with action games to be able to enjoy it, but that it should provide some challenge. Definitely not in the same realm as any Fromsoft game like Elden Ring, Bloodborne or the Dark Souls games

The PC specs don't seem too extreme, considering the fidelity this game is pushing. I was thinking at least a 3080 for the game to work well on standard settings but a 2080 is said to run it quite well at 1080
The story in this Journey to the West probably took some inspiration from the very old movie "A Chinese Odyssey Pandora Box 1 and 2" starring Stephen Chow (comedian actor who did Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer). It a hidden gem movie of his where he play two roles, he play as Monkey but at the same time play a character who was reincarnated as a human after Monkey did an unforgiving crime in the past. The movie is going back and forth in time to resurrect Monkey
No. The movie is based on a lot of movies. Journey to the west has a lot of series. Stephen chow few hours movie does not even touch the surface of the story. The novel and a lot of “series” movie is like real life One Piece, with hundreds of episodes.
@@dave3076 I can recommend the 1960 cartoon "Havoc in Heaven" or "Uproar in Heaven" depending how you write it. You can find it in TH-cam for free. It an old classic cartoon made in China before the Cultural Revolution and that studio last movie. It tell the condensed version of Monkey born from a stone and up to him fighting against Jade Emperor and how he become immortal. Most Chinese who grew up from the 60 have at least watched this classic.
In these kinds of games, what I ask is the variety of armament, and the diversity of enemies and each one with their move set, otherwise it is kind of boring. I remember the hype for example the ghost of Tsushima, and the only thing that was not boring was the story line
Now thats how a character should move, i was hoping they were going to add a sprint toggle to Clive on FF16 but they never did, if they wouldve added minigames, a sprint toggle and a somewhat set party through the entire game, FF16 wouldve destroyed, sorry completely off topic lol, this game looks phenomenal though and great vid 👏
I have been hyped since the very 1st reveal of this game! It is looking phenomenal! From graphics to music and the most important part, the gameplay, it all looks amazing! I just hope it feels as good as it looks! Cos i have seen many games that look great but once i have got my hands on the game i finally realise its all looks and sound, and everything else just feels completely wrong! I have faith in this like i did with Lies Of P and Stella Blade! Both of those games were phenomenal. I have to say that, 99.99% of the time, when deciding if i will enjoy a game or won't, well 99.99% of the time i am right, and more times than not i know whether a game is gonna be awesome or not! So i have complete faith in this game blowing gamers minds! I hope i am right cos it would be such a disappointment if it wasn't feeling how it looks.
I’m excited for this, but I’m also very excited for Star Wars outlaws. Most people are just talking crap about that game but despite it being Ubisoft, I love Star Wars and it looks awesome to me.

You're right. So far, the Destined One has not had a line or said anything in the trailers so far. Well, the only one I would believe is the trailer that showed the first time the game set a release date. There was a kid in the beginning talking to his master. That's probably what i was thinking, but i could be wrong. It would be nice if he did have a voice actor. But for me, if he doesn't, it's not going to be much of a bother to me.

Big Fan of both but unfortunately this is not even close, Sun Wukong is one of the most powerful fictional characters ever, even before he obtained enlightenment would not be remotely close he simply has way too much in his bag, any ability you could think of he probably has.

Im so over games that only have ONE weapon, and endless amounts of consumables. It ruined both Horizon Zero Dawn games. It reallt hurt my opinion of Sekiro. I heard someone point out in the story its his main weapon, thats no reason to not develop other weapons. They are making an adaption with discretion, they are adding things, and removing what they need too. No RPG should ever only have one weapon. No RPG should ever have less than 20 armor sets, or skins.

Enslaved was one of the best games I've ever played and one of the most overlooked. That definitely needs a remaster for the newer systems.

How difficult was the game? And are the like Stellar Blade difficult options?
The game does have difficulty modes, so I would imagine it being quite similar to the difficulty of Stellar Blade or games like it

First region is the biggest region, the rest are smaller region that branched from first region. 100 bosses is crazy, It most likely 15-20 bosses.

I know jrpgs aren't for everyone but rebirth is the apex, until remake part 3 comes out whatever it will be called. Wukong looks good, hope the combat and story can compete with rebirth. The new standard has been set, and it was on UE4. Time will tell if anyone is on par with square Enix and the team making the remake trilogy.

Rebirth was the greatest game I have ever played thus far in my life ( Combat was amazing, adventure sucked you in and made you want to find everything, story and character building made you feel part of the entire story which hrs clicked away without being noticeable ).... Wukong looks great but I will not spend a dime unless this has a physical disc.... I will Never support digatal only/ rental games!! Digital is nothing but a scam to take our money without allowing the gamer to OWN the game itself... I have zero care how beautiful this game can be if it can be shut off anytime the publisher decides and you all lose your money!! I will take a physical disc even if the support is shut off I can still play and own the game anytime I decide.... that said if the devs / publishers does make physical copys then I will own this new platform... we will see!!
I really don't like the inability to parry. I fell in love with it, with sekiro. The forever roll, is is something I don't visually like.

The developers have said that they intend for those less-familiar with action games to be able to enjoy it, but that it should provide some challenge. Definitely not in the same realm as any Fromsoft game like Elden Ring, Bloodborne or the Dark Souls games

The PC specs don't seem too extreme, considering the fidelity this game is pushing. I was thinking at least a 3080 for the game to work well on standard settings but a 2080 is said to run it quite well at 1080
The story in this Journey to the West probably took some inspiration from the very old movie "A Chinese Odyssey Pandora Box 1 and 2" starring Stephen Chow (comedian actor who did Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer). It a hidden gem movie of his where he play two roles, he play as Monkey but at the same time play a character who was reincarnated as a human after Monkey did an unforgiving crime in the past. The movie is going back and forth in time to resurrect Monkey
No. The movie is based on a lot of movies. Journey to the west has a lot of series. Stephen chow few hours movie does not even touch the surface of the story. The novel and a lot of “series” movie is like real life One Piece, with hundreds of episodes.

@@dave3076 I can recommend the 1960 cartoon "Havoc in Heaven" or "Uproar in Heaven" depending how you write it. You can find it in TH-cam for free. It an old classic cartoon made in China before the Cultural Revolution and that studio last movie. It tell the condensed version of Monkey born from a stone and up to him fighting against Jade Emperor and how he become immortal. Most Chinese who grew up from the 60 have at least watched this classic.

In these kinds of games, what I ask is the variety of armament, and the diversity of enemies and each one with their move set, otherwise it is kind of boring. I remember the hype for example the ghost of Tsushima, and the only thing that was not boring was the story line

Now thats how a character should move, i was hoping they were going to add a sprint toggle to Clive on FF16 but they never did, if they wouldve added minigames, a sprint toggle and a somewhat set party through the entire game, FF16 wouldve destroyed, sorry completely off topic lol, this game looks phenomenal though and great vid 👏

I have been hyped since the very 1st reveal of this game! It is looking phenomenal! From graphics to music and the most important part, the gameplay, it all looks amazing! I just hope it feels as good as it looks! Cos i have seen many games that look great but once i have got my hands on the game i finally realise its all looks and sound, and everything else just feels completely wrong! I have faith in this like i did with Lies Of P and Stella Blade! Both of those games were phenomenal. I have to say that, 99.99% of the time, when deciding if i will enjoy a game or won't, well 99.99% of the time i am right, and more times than not i know whether a game is gonna be awesome or not! So i have complete faith in this game blowing gamers minds! I hope i am right cos it would be such a disappointment if it wasn't feeling how it looks.

You're right. So far, the Destined One has not had a line or said anything in the trailers so far. Well, the only one I would believe is the trailer that showed the first time the game set a release date.
There was a kid in the beginning talking to his master. That's probably what i was thinking, but i could be wrong. It would be nice if he did have a voice actor. But for me, if he doesn't, it's not going to be much of a bother to me.

Big Fan of both but unfortunately this is not even close, Sun Wukong is one of the most powerful fictional characters ever, even before he obtained enlightenment would not be remotely close he simply has way too much in his bag, any ability you could think of he probably has.

Im so over games that only have ONE weapon, and endless amounts of consumables. It ruined both Horizon Zero Dawn games. It reallt hurt my opinion of Sekiro. I heard someone point out in the story its his main weapon, thats no reason to not develop other weapons. They are making an adaption with discretion, they are adding things, and removing what they need too. No RPG should ever only have one weapon. No RPG should ever have less than 20 armor sets, or skins.
