Exactly!!! This sums up what I've been thinking for a while. He wanted to be a good person, it was at some point very clearly in his nature to be virtuous and kind despite the abuse he faced, but after what had been done to him it didn't take long for him to change into a monster. It's such a tragedy.
At the end of the day he was just a product, both by upbringing and the company’s idea in general which is to make money off superhero’s. They played God and paid the ultimate price for it.

The aspect of The Boys season 5 that I'm looking forward to the most is seeing how Solider Boy's relationship with Homelander is going to change, because he initially said, "but there's no fixing that now." in regard to Homelander's personality flaws. But it's looking like in The Boys season 5 they'll be forced to work together, at least for a while.
Should be a company that finds these editors like Crusade here and employe them to do trailers or advertsment. Top tiers story telling, editting and soundtrack selection. Been subscribed a long time and I've gained alot of inspirstion with every edit.
I'm worried about Antony Starr's career because after hitting the top there's nowhere else to go but down. Homelander is terrifying, pathetic, disgusting, intriguing, pitiful, and horrible all at the same time. Performance of the century from Starr.
Honestly is homelander really wrong? Like Ryan said in the last episode, Butcher and the CIA wanted to trap him until he agreed to be their weapon, just like they did to Homelander. His mentality is totally understandable. He was a lab rat for people far weaker than him. They brainwashed him into having a need for love to be obedient. Wouldn’t anyone feel the same as him?
Art reflexes life...and vice versa. This show drifts at times towards unnecessary fetishes and overdone political banter. But all the same it exposes many realities of life to people. Alot of people who weren't aware about how insufferable they are as people likely do know now. Regardless of which side of the political spectrum they fall under. I judged Season 4 very harshly but the Finale made it all make sense to me writing wise. Season 5 will definitely be nonstop plot with no detours like in previous seasons. The insufferable, unredeemable characters in the show are like us; average humans with trauma and pain. But these humans are given powers and 9 out of 10 times they choose to become pure evil instead of heros. Very realististic, very satire and depressing but unfortunately very true. I'm not trying to convince you to watch it, as a fan since Season 1 I see your perspective and understand. But the show has a superb cast of actors. Now the writers... sometimes not so much. It varies on occasion but the show is adored and hated by all sorts of people. I'd say that's interesting and different. That yells success to me; the show almost feels like a social experiment.

antony Starr gives a portrayal of a comic book character that rivals heath ledger, Hugh Jackman, even Mark Hamill at times. He deserves every award
All that I see that's missing is "Why am I not good enough for you?" scene, but other than that this is a masterpiece.
