The main issue of a layout like this is the high maintenance. Keep all plants in shape and not overriding others in the foreground will be very difficult. You did an amazing job Balázs! Amazing layout.
Yes, Master. You are absolutely right, we will do a weekly trimming on this one, without a question. Actually, I will encourage a weekly trimming on all tanks from now on, the biggest mistake that we make is letting these plants grow too much, until it's not very good to trim them back a lot. Haha, well, here's an explanation for you: if you place bigger cliffs, plants or other objects in the foreground they will make the smaller elements in the background seem even bigger in size, making the whole scape much bigger. 😇

I am really impressed with this layout for so many reasons. I think what impresses me most is that you have created a diaroma style layout that is unique and have changed my opinion about that layout style. I really like this tank!! Too often, we see diaroma layouts that use only moss and epiphytes, and maybe, maybe, a few plants in the soil. You hardscaped a diaroma layout and planted tons of plants in the soil and that has blown me away. Amazing work and my congrats to everyone involved.
Thanks so much, I'm really glad we managed to inspire you a bit towards the diorama - oh, how much I hate that word. 😇🤪 It just sounds pejorative. But yeah, I like the natural style as well, and I'm not a big fan of underwater waterfalls and such, but I still like to reproduce something that I see in nature on a small scale. It's very difficult to do that in a natural way in aquariums, and I like the challenge. It will probably look much more natural even when the plants start to fill up, after all we're only two weeks in now...

I’m really glad you programmed this content because admittedly, I have been close-minded about layouts due to my love of the nature style. These days, the best nature style layouts are informed by the diaroma layout and they are better as a result. What term would you use for layouts like this that wouldn’t be pejorative? I know youre very tired balazs, but most beautiful art pieces done with so much pain as you know. This is so hype tank, I love the nature itself and enjoy with it all day but this is further of aquascaping. We dont need to make aquascaping more complicate for love, but people always love big things. This is masterpiece btw, creation of imagination. Thats why we need art, we need Artists in this world forever. You were damn good aquascaper before this, and still you are after that. Congrats

It has parts of your film love that I believe you want to move beyond. Tone it down, you’ve all the skills in the world. I really appreciate the hardwork and attention to the details for this type of aquascaping. But it's not the type that I would enjoy looking at for long term.
Thanks for the feedback Ali. Yeah, it's completely understandable that we don't have the same taste, this is what makes our world colorful. Actually, I would think that this type of aquascaping does not stand close to the hear of the IAPLC judges either, as they keep prioritizing the classic-style aquascapes. To each with their own. Will certainly do other style scapes in the future too, stay tuned.

We'll not apply to IAPLC, they only accept unpublished work, and this has got a lot of attention anyway. My point in making this aquarium was to show you guys how I think, and I've already got so much really nice feedback, that the goal is kinda achieved. We might send the picture for AGA just for fun later.

I think it is your best Tank so far. I really love it and I think I should build a similar tank some day. If you are afraid that some plant under the tree might die because they get too little light, you could set up a strong LED spotlight infront of the tank wich illuminates the area under the tree in the evening and in the morning when the shop is closed.
Okey, so the point was for me to show you guys how I think, and what my approach is towards building contest tanks, not to actually win anything. My win is if you support the channel by subscribing and if you appreciate my effort. On the other hand, the judging process for these contests is a highly subjective thing. Some like more natural styles, more conventional tanks, others like diorama, etc. Also, I can not send this to IAPLC, as they only accept unpublished works, and this one was obviously very published. 😅I'll probably send it to AGA though. But yeah, mission accomplished with you guys liking this so much and letting us know what you think. Your feedback is much appreciated, thanks! 🙏🏻👍🏻

I've been out of the hobby for a while due to work but I am retiring in just a month and once I get back home I plan to start again, this time with a little help from my 8 &10 yo boys and with you guys as my first reference. Very well thought out and masterfully curated layout. As much as I hate it, I respect your immense craftsmanship and I hope it’s rewarded in the IAPLC.
Believe me Freddie, it's completely ok to hate it. 😅To tell you honestly I think that IAPLC would hate it too, they are not big fans of revolutionary, difficult-to-sustain, dry-style layouts there. 💡😇Will do different style in the future too, stay tuned.

I really appreciate the hardwork and attention to the details for this type of aquascaping. But it's not the type that I would enjoy looking at for long term.
Thanks for the feedback Ali. Yeah, it's completely understandable that we don't have the same taste, this is what makes our world colorful. Actually, I would think that this type of aquascaping does not stand close to the hear of the IAPLC judges either, as they keep prioritizing the classic-style aquascapes. To each with their own. Will certainly do other style scapes in the future too, stay tuned.
The time, talent and knowledge required for this tank is epic. Absolutely stunning and a complete masterpiece, credit to everyone involved in this.... brilliant. 🙏👍🐠

I love the idea to use the White Clouds in this tank. I wouldn't have had that idea, but as soon as you said it it made perfect sense.

We'll not apply to IAPLC, they only accept unpublished work, and this has got a lot of attention anyway. My point in making this aquarium was to show you guys how I think, and I've already got so much really nice feedback, that the goal is kinda achieved. We might send the picture for AGA just for fun later.

I think it is your best Tank so far. I really love it and I think I should build a similar tank some day.
If you are afraid that some plant under the tree might die because they get too little light, you could set up a strong LED spotlight infront of the tank wich illuminates the area under the tree in the evening and in the morning when the shop is closed.

Okey, so the point was for me to show you guys how I think, and what my approach is towards building contest tanks, not to actually win anything. My win is if you support the channel by subscribing and if you appreciate my effort.
On the other hand, the judging process for these contests is a highly subjective thing. Some like more natural styles, more conventional tanks, others like diorama, etc. Also, I can not send this to IAPLC, as they only accept unpublished works, and this one was obviously very published. 😅I'll probably send it to AGA though.
But yeah, mission accomplished with you guys liking this so much and letting us know what you think. Your feedback is much appreciated, thanks! 🙏🏻👍🏻
