Hi Alexandre, Sorry for the late reply. I just saw your post. The thing is that currently Bongo 3.0 is being developed. It’s even uncertain whether IK (in it’s current form) will stay on. The newcomer ‘Connections’ will make animating mechanical structures far more easy. So I feel like it’s no longer opportune to make more videos regarding version 2.0 - although on the other hand I think it could take a while before 3.0 will be released. Nevertheless if you have some particular issue in mind you can always let me know at luc@mcneel.com
"constrain to objet" is blocked in my bongo version, I try all of the bongo oficials versions that I found, and in all is broke this component, constrain to object, properties of" pivot constraint". However, "simple constraint " open other alternatives that I don´t understand....will be the way. Can you help me please? thanks for you work with this, is amazing!
Jake, Nice to get some comment on my tutorial. Thanks. The end sequence is a separate animation of the arm-elements (all scissoring aspects left aside) which I tricked in the movie with the help of the video-editing software I'm using (Videopad Video Editor). I noticed you’re not a member of the Bongo Users site (bongo.rhino3d.com). If you sign up - which I can recommend - and relaunch you question on Bongo’s Discussion platform (discourse.mcneel.com/c/bongo) I can upload the file animating the ‘falling apart’.The actual scissoring arm can be found on Bongo’s site: files.na.mcneel.com/bongo/2.0/samples/ScissorArmFinal.3dm Best regards, Luc
Thanks a lot for this wonderfull tutorial! I have a question. I need to build the bridge structure which consist of two structures like this, and when i make a mirror it doesnt works anymore, what is the strategy? Thankyou!
First of all on discourse.mcneel.com/c/bongo Bongo has a forum where you can post your issues. That’s a far better channel for matter like this. You can also visit Bongo’s site (bongo.rhino3d.com) or mail me personaly luc@mcneel.com I assume your IK structure looks baloney because the parent/child relations weren’t redirected to the copied objects. The BongoCopyChain command (more or less) solves this. When you select the head of the IK-chain Bongo copies the selected object and all the objects children. The hierarchy settings, including constraints and IK, are also copied. ‘More or less’ because regrettably the command is still a bit bugged: the constraints-to-objects aren’t redirected, hence that has to be done manually. Unfortunately a BongoMirrorChain does not exist (yet - that’s something for 3.0). You can however easily Rhino-mirror a structure. Only the mirrored pivots look a bit awkward. Hoop to see you on the forum :-)
Can you make more Bongo tutorials if you have time ? It s fantastic !
