when you spray flexible stuff like rods or plastic car bumpers, it would be advisable to add a plasticizer to the paint to give it the ability to flex in stead of crack.
I think the only problem you will have with painting a rod is durability. Without sanding the surface, the paint will eventually come off in some places, so you may have to repaint it. You could probably scuff the surface of the rod with some emery cloth or something like that to help create a more durable paint job, but I'm not sure how much sanding on the clear coat on a rod would affect the rod's integrity or strength. It looks pretty sick though! Great color.
5.8 bass in il 45 pound yellow fin tuna off the coast of cabo...those things fight like hell took me and my bro (173rd) almost an hour to reel that in...sitting pretty in my garage
You have to light sand it then lay down primer then paint the primer puts a sticky layer down and then you pain on the primer and then it'll be just fine

If you’ll want to try and spray paint and good rod but doesn’t cost much. Try the lews hank Parker to start out at.
