may I ask what clay that is? I am currently in the process of designing a covered recumbent bike... I want to make a full scale model for it. BTW, you've got a great skill, not many people even have the patience to do even do the first step in your process
Thank you!😉👍 I'm using Chavant Autostyle clay. A full-scale prototype requires a lot of clay. You may start with the frame and foam. 20 mm layer of clay will be enough.
@@Cristian_is_saved I started with something like that, too. Professional clay is good, but you can achieve great results with any clay. Avoid water-based clay. Use something like a plasticine.
@@designerwithacamera Okay thank you. Right now I'm saving up to go to the UK for a bachelors in automotive and transportation design at Swansea university and I'm pretty sure what you did in this video is the final project. Im nervous but I'm sure I will be prepared. Thanks again for the video and for the tips. God bless you.
@@smz8949 You can use plasticine (any non-water-based art clay). Back in the day, I used regular plasticine from an art store. Try to find hard clay- it will be easy to work with it.
Hi! Thank you for your comments! I bought clay modeling tools from Chavant in the nearest professional art store. Some tools I bought on eBay or Aliexpress. And I made a lot of tools myself.
@@designerwithacamera I had a set of those flat scrapers, wooden handles with wire holding the scraper edge and have mis-placed them. I have several thousand hours carving the Chavant, made several cars, and going to do another sculpture. Thanks.
I don't remember it. But I can tell you how to find proper dimensions. Use a free tire calculator online. Just add a rim size (for example 21 inches) and it will calculate everything. Then just divide tire size on 8, if you are using a 1/8 scale
@@designerwithacamera Yes sir i have tried comparing Bugatti chiron super sports wheels and those r 28 inches and by diving by 8 its roughly around 9 cms ……..

Please do more of these (or at least ASMR versions) without the music. The sounds of you designing on the clay is so relaxing and engrossing.
Thank you for your advice. I like that kind of video too. But I want to make my videos with voiceover. It helps me to improve my English 😉
Please explain how to making same side some others examples

Mill a Styrofoam buck first my dude, or 3d print one. That foil is not solid enough and you are using a lot of extra clay.
