- This is the shortened version of replacing the clutch in my hardbody. All of the important bits and overview are here, but if you’re interested in more there’s a full version on the channel.
Clutch kit brand is XTR
Thanks for the video. My clutch never slipped just went to floor. I replaced master, slave still no clutch. I pulled the seat out 4 bolts found easier to work on. I pulled everything out replacing carrier bearing the works. I put every bolt in coffee cans together.i i had flywheel resurfaced new u joints i really didn't need but said what the heck. Im putting it back together now your video showed the throw out bearing spring and lever something i wasn't sure about before i took transmission out last year didn't remember if all the parts were there and your video confirmed it thanks. I purchased that truck brand new in 95. Was my Dailey for 15 years not every day ive had other nicer trucks but kept and took good care synthetic oil change twice a year because speedometer hasn't worked sice 187,000 miles have no idea how many.its sat for months at time but always is running when i need it. I pulled oil pan and 0 sludge nothing very clean same 2.4 engine 5 speed. Ive actually had another 97 automatic trans low miles sold it needed money repaired head liner timing chain a few cosmetic things kept 2 yrs sold for $1000 more than i paid for it. But ill likely never sell the 95. I say any decent hardbody that pops up from grandpas garage buy it. I can say they are the best small pick-ups made. I cant afford a new pickup and even if i could 40k to 50k for a small new truck? Omg its crazy...Thanks again im 56 done many repairs and haven't replaced a clutch ever you've been a great help. God bless you sir.
Wow that's awesome that you've kept your truck, I agree they are fantastic trucks with a great engine. Glad my video was of some use to you sir, hope you get her back on the road and shifting properly again. God bless

Thank you for keeping important things in this video
I see the video upload date was almost 2 years,, curious to know how clutch has held up, about to replace mine and a few other things whole j have the trans pulled and trying decide on the clutch to put in, mine is a daily so want it reliable!
Does that crank sensor have to line up with anything or just pop it in
I love how you do it
How is your clutch holding up? I’m trying to do a replacement and wondering what clutch do to, kinda skeptical about that one.
So far so good, but I only have maybe 1000-2000 miles on it.
I appreciate this. helpful tips. Have clutch replace on list of projects after locate heavy short. Thanks And Our God With You As Love
I’m glad it was helpful! Good luck and God bless!
I have a question how do you install the turbo
Something happened to my clutch damper and the slave cylinder was full of gray metallic toothpaste substance..... It look like The same color as a mega gray gasket maker that I used on the clutch damper.....
Will this clutch fit a 4x4 Nissan d21 with the ka24e?
So this why it’s hard to put my truck in first gear or reverse. Clutch pedal to the floor and it grinds?!
Yeah good chance of it.
Do those titan and tacoma wheels bolt right up without modification?
The Tacoma wheels don't need modification, but they need a mag seat lug nut and I run a hub centric ring to center them on the hub better (center bore is a little big). The titian wheels need the center bored out or you might be able to use a spacer if you're into that look.
What did you use to take off the top starter? I’m stuck
That's a good question, I remember that being tricky, and to be honest I don't exactly remember what I did to get that one, I want to say we used a wrench from above (from the engine bay) or swivel sockets may have been used. I don't have anything fancier than that, sometimes you just need a different approach angle.
Does anyone know if a bad pressure plate can vibrate the slave cylinder and then you got so much air that you can't shift very well😢😢😢???
I had no vibration but replaced slave and master. No slipping but one clutch spring was unhooked maybe you have more than one popped off. don't waste money on new slave or master. I put phone under to see and after replacing all fluid components didn't work any better same results if not slipping you might have same problem but worse. gonna have to pull trans to be sure. Good luck.
whered did you get that air filter box?? i need one
The intake top hat piece? That's from a late 90's early 2000's Chevy 4.3l found in the S10, Blazer, Sonoma etc. I just drilled holes to fit the hardbody throttle body and plugged the little tube breather it has.
My hard line is leaking air but not fluid..... Looks like I need 71"Stainless steel line to go from master to slave I don't see anything online I'm really bummed.....
If you have the original Nissan fly wheel I would stick with it As well as the pressure plate..... There's a lot of bad parts out there....
That's a bummer, sorry I have no clue where youd have to get that part from. Fortunatley I haven't hit any issues with slave or master cylinder... yet. I've got my stock flywheel still, and I held onto the stock pressure plate just in case, I'm all too familiar with bad "new" parts
