Hey, saw you place in Bird Photographer of the Year this year. Congrats and cool turkey shot! The bobcat and beaver encounter you captured here was so cool. I don't blame the bobcat for being startled, the beavers have surprised me more than once kayaking with their shotgun blast tail thwap.
Thanks for noticing that John! I actually have a second photo in the book which is amazingly cool. Very honored and humbled. PS totally agree about the beavers. Same thing happened to me multiple times canoeing at dusk :-)
the seasons are changing for sure. Have had WT sparrows for a week or so as well as DE Juncos and Kinglets the last couple of days. I'm looking forward to more trail cam footage. The beaver and the bobcat was pretty cool.
@@kathyporter6479 Thanks for the report, Kathy! And I agree… The beaver and the bobcat was an amazing encounter that I could’ve never seen without the benefit of trail camera with night vision.
Hi Sparky, we went up to the bog last year to try and find the Great Horned Owl and unfortunately we were five minutes late to the party according to one birder we talked to. We did however see a number of sweet warblers including the Connecticut warbler which was great. We hope to make it up again this year so hopefully you'll have a video about the owls when you see one. Another great video and I sure love the bog!
Hi Leonard, Do you mean the great gray owl? Glad you got to see a Connecticut… Not easy! I do have quite a few encounters with great gray owls in previous virtually live episodes. But I will definitely include them in future videos if I see them. I hope you can come in winter sometime :-)
@@SparkyStensaas Oh of course, yes the Great gray owl, my apologies. Yes we hope to make it up there this winter if we can. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and appreciate the time you take to record, edit and process them, thanks.
The Bobcat and Beaver....wonderful video capture of their interaction! Could you use more trail cameras, Sparky? The one in the video looks like an HP5?
Sparky have you noticed the roadkill being either a coyote or a fox? I can't tell the difference - they seem to both have the lighter colored fur on the front chest?
@@SparkyStensaas Hi Sparky: thanks for the question. I just figured you probably saw this roadkill - it might have been on 53 - of a big dog type animal with a white front. I can't tell if it's coyote or fox. It's not in your video but rather I figured you probably drive on the highway around there or interstate. thanks
I really look forward to your videos, and this one didn't disappoint! Can't wait to see the next one!
Thank you so much, Rita!
Another video Sparky. Can’t wait for our first visit to the bog soon.
Glad you’re going to visit the Bog Guy!
Beaver and bobcat for the win. Good one Sparky.
Definitely a fun and rare encounter….virtually experienced!
Those are some impressive call skills you have there Sparky! Great video! The bog is so beautiful in the fall!
No Moose this time! The Bog is beautiful the first 3 weeks of October.

Yes it is the Browning Spec Ops H5. I have six right now, but could always use more :-)

Hi Void, I’m sorry but what roadkill are you talking about? I don’t remember that in the video or was it in a different video?
