Thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience. There is a lot of misinformation available online regarding how to make hand fabricated fine jewellery.
Loving your channel Chris! I’m old school too having trained as a diamond mounter from 1978. Thinking out loud about inspiration for your future videos that your subscribers would like.... Cuttlefish casting, although you probably started with delft clay? String polishing in those hard to get to bits. Ring sizing and putting a piece in getting the angles correct of the inserted piece so it doesn’t ping out. Pulling down wire without a draw bench 💪 Melting up old bits of customers old gold and making say a new wedding ring. Keep up the good work, love it! Liked the collet making from a disc.. never thought of that one. Brilliant... beats Netflix!
String polishing video has already been made! Patrons to the channel have already seen it but I think it will public on youtube in a few days. I want to do ring sizing advice videos but Im still only working in silver. Working on a gold or platinum ring I can share a lot more info. Maybe I will just do a silver one and explain the differences.
When you talk about using a grinder to alter the pliers, I’m assuming you must have to disassemble them, grind them then reassemble? Could you please clarify what you mean for us newbies out here pretty please / or better yet make some how to videos for how you alter and create tools? Please please and thank you for all that you are doing.
Good job! Can you show as the technic how the ancient rings are made specially made hollow antique rings with or without intaglio Thank you in advance. Will be very nice project.
further to my first comment doing it that way you now have three solder joints to hide all in one location therefor making the ring weaker, however you make it there are still solder joints to contend with, your no soldering is blown right out the window even the best jeweller in the world will leave the smallest dent no matter what it is unavoidable have a look under a microscope its bloody amazing.
Like your channel, after 4 years a jeweller, I’m always a student, and you have the cleanest jewellers fingers ever !

Thanks again for making these videos. As a newbie, adding the measurements of your metals when beginning and finishing could help me work along.
I do sometimes mention what Im working with but thanks if its useful to people I will try to always be clear
Thankyou for sharing this with us Chris x

I want to have my wedding ring and engagement ring changed to a shank ring . Do you have to redo the entire rings to achieve the shank style
Good video . Great channel 👍
how to achieve that effect on an electric rolling mill?
This is great. I need to know how to do this accurately, to size. I need to understand the math. Please help.
