Bambaram - 90's kids Favourite game / Street game

The Bambaram,
also known as the spinning tops in english, played using just tops and ropes is one of the favourite street games for 90's kids , which still hasn't gone out of trend. The type of flick-spinning top, seems to have originated in the Thirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu. A carpenter carved and shaped a rounded wooden knob. Stuck a sharp nail into the narrow bottom and figured the flick of the string would send the top flying and make it spin on a surface.
A simple yet fun game for kids.
