I was very grateful to get some F1 24 early access and I thought I would use the opportunity to give my first impressions of the new F1 24 handling and what it is like to play on controller.

Maybe instead of listening to the inhuman being that is Max Verstappen with handling they should have listened to the general users
I don't think Verstappen will touch this game at all with this handling 💀💀 all for being an EA ambassador
No they should be listening to the actual drivers who race every weekend, not the esports crowd, not the casual crowd.
This is just Codemasters being very incompetent and making probably the worst handling model of any racing game out there, from sims, all the way down to arcades
@@AB-mw8oz ah yes let's make it more difficult for casual players to get into the game and make it more SIM based so that less people can enjoy it unless they put ungodly amount of hours into it.
I've played less and less of the games recently because they're honestly so awful to play as a controller player. They expect you to have a steering wheel to be half way decent. And not everyone does/will have that. The last great game imo was 2016.. the games after have been very good to average at best and I'm so glad I got gifted them as birthday gifts not actually having to pay for them myself

This already gives EA a free pass for F1 25, it will just slap on it the "it's better than F1 24" label and people would be excited for getting another F1 22
In hindsight, I gave F1 23 way too much credit just cos of how stinky F1 22 was without realising
Codemasters are still the developers of the game. I think they can't make a good game with the new generation of cars. In F1 23 on the controler i can't race on Jeddah and Baku like previous games and the least said on f1 22 the beter. Well i will give f1 24 a chance.

@@sennescholten7278 yeah f1 23 had plenty of issues that were fixed pretty quickly. Hopefully they can get a patch out before release that sorts these main issues

In F1 23, there were some corners where you could have a second front wing on a controller and still understeer to the moon, and the AI front end will unrealistically bite as if it's on rails. This is essentially EA's way of saying "We can't be arsed to fix the AI, so we made the player's handling as unrealistic"

Is controller gonna be better this game then previous ones?
I’d say it’s better than F1 22 but for now it feels worse than F1 23
On the pad it feels like there is a steering assist fighting you even though there isn't one on. Mid corner it's like the car tries to turn less OR more, it's like a lottery, so you don't know what to expect and it causes you to just be twitchy on the steering 24/7 as you do not know where you'll end up having to steer.
I'm usually quite smooth on the pad but with this it's impossible to do consistent.
Completely agree, high speed corners are usually okay though

Think this is the first time since Codies released F1 that I've not been interested in buying. £60 for a POS handling system on an old game engine and the same old graphics? No thanks. Also, marketing the ERS as new is funny when they removed that a few years ago and have now reintroduced it.

No, ea are causing this mess. Codemasters owned them from 2008/9 up until 2021. Since F1 21 the game hasn't been that decent anymore

I will post a more in depth review when the game launches publicly on Tuesday, but unless there’s significant changes until then, this’ll probably be my conclusion
