I just helped my non-military buddy repack and reconfigure his MRE's like this for his go-bag, he was impressed by how much more room we can make by doing these little things haha, always eating them cold, I think I maaaaybe used an FRH twice in Infantry OSUT back in the day, definitely isn't that necessary with our conventional rations lol.
MREs should self destruct mission impossible style after you eat them so you don't need to worry about the trash... maybe before you eat them depending on the flavor.

The ONLY smart things here, is to remove all the plastic stuff .. but then again, why do the mre manufacturers have to put everything into such biohazards, when there are more enviromentaly friendly alternatives. And expecially if you want to be stealthy, it should be something either found localy or that can be burned or in other way easy disposed of.
