    Nice but a five points seabelt, a rollcage a bit more reinforced and something to separate the motor bay from the driver's seat would've been even greater. Seeing that thing almost flipping over while climbing that dune made me a bit uncomfortable.

    I am a nurse by trade and a woodworker by passion. I know how to weld. Id really like to build something like this for my daughters. How do i begin to build the knowledge of what parts to use and where to get them from? That little buggy is so cool!!! I really want them to have that kind of childhood.

    • @motomule
      @motomule  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On this buggy I used a harbor freight engine and Chinese torque converter. The front wheels and hubs are off of an old quad. The rear axle is a standard go kart axle. I'd search Go Power Sports for most of the parts you'd need. Thanks for watching!!

    Ha ha awesome. I love how reasonably simple it is. I've been watching all sorts of videos trying to figure out how I could make an off road kart with limited tools and meagre welding skills. There's some amazing things out there but I like this one for those reasons.
    You most definitely should consider selling pdf plans for this as well as a "big kids" version. Maybe you could do an adult's version with a how to step by step vid. A big ask I know but...
    Thanks for the great content.

    • @motomule
      @motomule  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The next kids one is going to be 4wd!!! My kids want a monster truck. Making plans would be difficult, so much of what I build just happens because of the materials I have on hand. I'm no engineer or anything, honestly I wouldn't want the liability of designing something for someone else and then them getting hurt.

    • @rapier01
      @rapier01 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@motomule ok fine but you're copping out a bit there. Your frame design is solid otherwise you wouldn't let your own kids ride it right? Just say "build at your own risk, go karting is inherently dangerous" that sort of thing. Otherwise I look forward to seeing the next innovation.

      Screw that. I dont always want to see those overproduced arty farty crap. Average Dad, doing awesome stuff. I’m watching this cause its just the way i like it. A couple of construction shots, and then the thing working. I havent got 2 hours to watch a full series of some wannabe dribbling on.
      Love the cart. I reckon i’ve probably got those parts lying around too. Only problem is the kids are pretty much driving cars at the farm now.

    That was 100 mph dad ! Let’s see .... at this pace your looking at speed week at the salt flats in place of the dunes by the time they can legally drive . Simple mathematics using a formula I made up , like computing power law double the HP every 18 months; 6.5 ,13,26,52,104,208,416,832,1664, and so on!!
    Something like that would get them to the age at where you make the decision (s) to abruptly chop the money tree down or they sign big money endorsements( prior to legally binding) with enough time to skim or recoup your investments and forever controlling a revenue stream of royalties from your intellectual property s ? Just a thought.
    Good luck
    Post script .. I’m not an attorney, aka bottom feeder , nor should this make any sense to a person of sound mind and cognitive awareness. Unless your a resident of California lacking a moral compass regardless of political affiliation you wouldn’t get it anyway.
