I absolutely love the music in this movie: took me forever to realize it wasn’t actually a real language, it’s all just gibberish. Two of my favorite moments from this movie. The scene where the Other Father says “Wybie pulled a looong face… and Mother didn’t like it.” And when Other Mr. Bobinksi said “Not even that… anymore.”
The medal Bobinsky is wearing is one that was awarded to Chernobyl liquidators for their efforts in the clean up campaign. That's why his skin is blue, and why he eats beets.
Fun fact: this is the VERY watered down version of the book, which was actually too scary to be published as a children's book. The only reason it was? The daughter of the publisher was so terrified she NEEDED to find out the ending, so she lied and said it wasn't scary.
How was it watered down?? I remember reading the book and it pretty much followed the movie exactly except for the time Coraline went without her parents was longer unless I'm forgetting something???
i thought the story of that went like “publishers didn’t want to publish the book like that cuz it was too scary, not until little girl said it wasn’t scary, and then years after she confessed that it was actually scary but she still liked it very much, which helped to publish the book” ?
The hardest scene they had to film for this movie was the mice circus performance. If you know anything about stop motion, you know it's ridiculously hard to pull off, especially like this.
If you were paying attention to the Other Father's song, you'd realize that it was actually a warning. Making up a song about coraline. She's a peach (something to eat) she's a doll (how the other mother spies on her) she's a pal of mine (he actually cares about her.) She's a cute as a button to everyone who ever laid their eyes on coraline (buttons for eyes) When she comes exploring, mom and I will never ever make it boring (how the other mother plans to lure her into staying) Our eyes will be on coraline (sewing the buttons into her eyes) And then the pause right at the end, before he pulls away, he looks right at the camera like he's saying, "Did you get that?"
I never knew it until this year that if we hadn't seen the doll being made, Wybie would come off as a creepy stalker after giving Coraline the doll. Its funny how Coraline wasn't creeped out by it and her mom might have picked up on it
between Paranorman, Frankenweenie and Coraline, this one takes the trophy to the most disturbing and bizarre children movie I've ever seen, to this day, im terrified.
There's some early foreshadowing before she goes into the other world: She tells her mom she wants to garden out in the rain to get her mom's attention. The Other Mother offers to play hide and seek in the rain.
If you go back and read all the original Grimm's Fairy Tales, before they were Disney-fied, they are absolutely terrifying. "Coraline", and many other animated films along this line, are basically modern versions of those fairy tales but told in a different way.
In the welcome home message on the cake, there's a unique loop in the O that symbolizes dishonesty. She is welcome, but she's not home. Yes i know it was just a happy accident, but what a happy accident it was.
Neat little thing that goes unnoticed: Real mom says she locked the door because she saw some rat crap and wanted Coraline to feel safe. Next time she goes into the other world, she discovers the circus mice are actually rats.
So apparently there was a little girl named Coraline... I don't exactly remember when but possibly 1900s... Long story short... Coraline was abused by her mother and apparently died and the mother sewed buttons on her eyes and kept telling her to look at her and open her eyes...then I closed the video.
37:50 : nope, not her face. If you really pay attention, it's the other mother's face actually. And also, remember what Whybie said to Coraline the first time he met her, at the well ? He said something about if you look deep into the well you'll be able to see a night sky full of stars, even in the middle of the day (that wasn't the exact line so check it out yourself again but that was pretty much the idea). Now where can you always see a night sky full of stars even in the middle of the day ? The other mother's world. It's literally always nighttime. I do think the well is some sort of portal to that other world. So, towards the end, when Coraline threw the key into the well to get rid of it forever, she actually threw it into the other mother's world. Coraline loses, the other mother wins. Sorry to break it to you but the end of Coraline is not happy, at least that's what I think :'( if you're interested to see more proof to this theory or other theory about Coraline you should look on TH-cam, or internet just in general actually there are plenty of that. Anyway that was a long as* comment you probably won't read it but I'm really passionate with Coraline lmao 😂 Great reaction video btw, keep it up, and love to you 2 ❤
I love this movie. Lakia movies are very good. Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, and Kubo n the two Strings are all great stop motion animation movies. Don’t be fooled by the ending of this movie. The Bedlam wins at the end not loses. Coraline ends up in a false reality at the end, the Pink Palace Limbo. TH-camr The Fangirl has made many videos proving this. The well is another doorway to the Bedlam’s lair. If you look closely at how the reality looks at the beginning to how it looks at the end there are details showing the reality at the end isn’t the same. The cat disappears at the end because he travel between worlds. There is radiator near a window in Coraline home. It is a different size at the end which shows the reality at the end is fake. The happy ending is an illusion.
my bday was on the 29th, just turned 33. if you haven't please react to evil dead 2013, one of the best ones. if not then please do the crow with brandon lee in it, RIP. yeah when i saw this, i said yup this is why it''s not on disney lol. with the 2 old ladies with those small outfits. the dude that's tall with that small shirt, idky but the way he looks creeps me out.
I have an honest question because I’m curious, and I don’t mean any disrespect…but why do you have the same movie repeated on here with different viewers watching it with you? For example, you have “The Matrix” on here 3 times. Personally, I like to get YOUR reactions to movies. Those are my favorite reactions on here! They’re so genuine and pure.
The years on the bowls of taffy correspond to when the ghost children went missing

6:38 LOL she’s actually onto smth bc the mice in the movie are based on kangaroo mice!
I thought it was a gerbil
0:57 Literally! Shes using embalming tools on the doll!

not really lol
@@Shadyoaksretirement also, wybie never existed in the book (she was just talking to herself almost the whole time)
@@batool2000rox yeah that's true too

CORALINEEEEEE!!! of course you guys post this when i’m at work 😭😭 it’ll be the first thing i watch when i get off though! 💕
I have the exact same thing! And one of my favourite movies as well! Something to look forward to😊 Good luck at work!
@ thank you 🥰
Me working a night shift so I can watch it during 🤣🤣
Coraline's parents are freelance writers so they're strapped for cash and need to work extra. Something that Coraline doesn't realize

Always great reaction guys thanks!
I really enjoyed watching this again with you two.
Even though in 23 years old now and this was a good movie, it still kinda creeps me out
One of my favess! Will watch this after work!❤

A friend of mine wrote a term paper using Coraline as a metaphor for drug addiction; It was actually brilliant.

A CLASSIC, and also, out of topic but QUYNH LOOKS AMAZING 😭🎀

I love this movie! I saw it multiple times in the theatre. I also watched it at home while coming into an acid trip, which was interesting lol!
Ok, now pls The Corpse Bride ☺️
Saw this movie in theaters when it came out and the spider web scene was insane! Beautiful movie and awesome reaction!

31:07 that's their real voices! When talking like normal, their voices are altered, but here, their real voices were creepy enough to use as is!
Dakota Fanning voices Coraline.

The Beldam's plate is always empty and is only seen eating when she eats a cocoa beetle
You guys need to react to the Kdrama Moving.
Would love to see your reaction 😍
Oh, and for the Sandman fans:
Its confirmed the cat is Dream of the Endless!
Watched this when i was 24, was enjoying some social foods on pizza and chips witch made this movie more messed up then it should have been. 😂
Everyone with button eyes works for the Bedlam, including the ghost children.
9:16 Oop there goes gravity
Can you please react to Paranorman❤
He already reacted to it
The real messed up part is that the Other Mother actually isn't the monster. She's a monster living INSIDE the monster.
What do you mean?
@miaamer7718 the entire Other World is the monster. The Beldam just lived in it.
I found it annoying how Wybie would just bring up lore about The Pink Palce and then barely finish it

Did your girlfriend have a super Glowup? Or, maybe something changed with lighting? B/c she looks Radiant!
Other Father and Wybie are the only good puppets
Oh and this oughta make some people happy:
Its confirmed Spink and Forcible are a couple.
I like to think that Forcible and Fink are a married couple
