It’s always easier and clear if the bride or groom gives guests a dress code or some information on what they want. I’ve been at weddings where I was underwhelmingly dressed because I didn’t want to upset the bride or sometimes overdressed which wasn’t a great feeling in both instances. It’s not that simple to get it right as a wedding guest.
I saw jeans at one of THE fanciest weddings I ever attended and I thought WTH?! I mean, someone must be totally clueless or think rules don't apply to them, because rules WERE specified! LOL

1. No cargo shorts
2. No Crocs or flip flops
When in doubt, it is ALWAYS better to be overdressed than underdressed.
