Chris, Just my opinion. The more the camera is in the cab the better the video. I have watched lots of equipment while others operate it. From the outside. It's inside view I don't normally get to see. If you agree, thumb up! Thanks for the videos! I watch them all! Respectfully, Kevin
Don Hanson that topsoil packs hard as a rock, my point is that u have too keep it loosen up till the grass starts growing in it and then you’ve got something then.
@@timmyfrierson2684 it looks almost exactly like the topsoil from the cornbelt, Where I grew up. If he put a couple of loads spread out on his pasture land and ran a disc to incorporate some of his sandy soil into it. It should stay a fluffy deep rich soil.
This brought to mind your use of mud mats. I'm guessing they could be useful for your haul truck over muddy ground. The old Marston mats that were used for airfields in WWII would be handy but I'm guessing they would be expensive now. Many were reclaimed, melted for new steel, or rusted out, I'm sure.
Aloha Chris... just wanted to say the hiyachi & your yanmar and even your other pieces @ home have been such a great help in getting a wide variety of jobs & work done. I \f you didn't have these pieces, would you be doing those jobs or would the company/Uncle have to pony up??? they've become integril in accomplishing sooooo many projects... very smart purchases......
Hey Chris great video brother but I just wanted to say something to you you need to keep that Hitachi because listening to that motor running that thing runs like a sewing machine all your pins and bushings is real tight in it so that’s a keeper but my point is you might as well get off some that money and go ahead and put a paint job on it, lol. But it be in a 20 ton machine that’s just an all-around machine to do just about anything weird to me that is one of your best machines that you bought on your own I would definitely keep it keep the videos coming brother and you have a great and blessed day
If you loosen up that bucket a little. Dirt Perfect might buy it from you. He may even trade you for his Volvo. The bucket pin on the Volvo is a little to tight for Mike. Lol God bless
That's probably as fine a quality of topsoil as I've ever seen you move, sometimes it seems more like sand or subsoil. What is the 'triangular' section at the front of the tipper body, looks like it'd be a real sod to tip some sticky clay?
I think your bucket needs a few more shims, it appears to be somewhat loose - if its not the bearing surfaces themself being shot out you should better fix it before it starts beating itself to death thanks to the wiggle room giving itself space to work itself down its pretty nice that you fixed that excavator up for good - hopefully it holds up a long time

Try closer to 10,000 grand is what he said on earlier video and on side job machine he rarely uses on the weekends. He paid 10,000 for the machine alone and threw a few extra grand to get up to par.
@@jamesrobinson1022 go to the scrapyard, canibalize some old maschine for a functioning cylinder, get a plate of 4/5 inch Hadox 450 three 2.5 inch pipes with 3/8 wall thickness made of Hadox , a good toolsteel pin and a seamless 1/2inch wall thickness pipe that fits said pin, plan your thumb in CAD , calculate it, cut the shape you want via acetylene oxygen sandblast, degrease and champfer all welding areas, clamp everything in place, preheat the parts with a propane torch, Mig weld it with multiple seams, attach the cylinder and connect it to the hydraulics mounted for a hydraulic hammer maybe 500$ and 25hours of work
I looked at a Hitachi 220 today. I think it is a 2006. it had a little over 2500 hours. they are asking $100k. Is that close to the going rate for an excavator that size?
Sawdust can be treated to break the lignin / cellulose bond and then used as an excellent cattle feed. Not sure how, but some Google searches might give specifics. I remember something about a bit of acid, then heating it.

Hi Chris, great video as always! Question: Is the dirt pile, which you’re digging from, leftover from previous jobs, and/or how did you get it? It just seems like that dirt pile is a bit more bedraggled compared to the other piles of material there. Just curious 🕵🏻♀️
Cat and CJ, the source of the dirt is the saw mill that his friend runs and where he takes his logs. They probably scrapped the topsoil off the log yard years ago so that they could pack down a firm base to stack and store logs. In a small mill like that one, you often store logs until you get enough of a type to do a run. They don’t have a use for it so it’s probably a good bit of found money for them. The home owner obviously needed some topsoil so it’s a win win for everyone.

That's the mechanical thumb you are hearing. It doesn't lock down fully for him. The bucket is perfectly shimmed and greased.
