Driving from Nelson to Creston | Canada Road Trip in 4K

This is the fourth leg of our journey from Osoyoos, British Columbia to Banff in Alberta Canada. We started this leg in Nelson on August 1st, 2020, and heading south on Highway 6. In Salmo, Highway 6 South is joining Highway 3 East and we continue southbound until Highway 6 and 3 are splitting. From there, we continue driving on Highway 3 eastwards and crossing the Kootenay Pass at an elevation of 1774 meters before we arrive in Creston after a drive time of 1 hour and 25 minutes 🛑Please Subscribe➤bit.ly/-STV

That was a really wonderful mountain drive. I like the mountain roads in Canada, you can drive at decent speeds, as the alignment is very straight. In Europe the roads going at these altitudes are generally much more curvy.

The Salmo-Creston is a steep and scenic drive. Much rather do that drive in summer. In winter, it is a snowy beast.

@@SigisTravelVideos iirc, the Salmo/Creston, aka the “skyway”, is the highest highway in Canada. It’s a beast in the winter, because that area is a snow belt as well.

`The drive from CRESTON TO THE KOOTENAY FERRY TO BALFOUR IS NICEespecially on a motorcycle,
On the Balfour side ride North to Kaslo then up and over to New Denver. THE FERRY IS FREE.
