The undated formated is super cool! It helps lessen the pressure if you skip a day of journalling or planning: I really like that !

Yeah it makes it feel more approachable and less like you HAVE to use it every day. I find that I’m mostly in my journal weekdays and not as much on the weekends.

I fell in love with this book in just two days of journaling. My only issue is that it's only offered three months worth of journaling. I wish they would make one for one year length of time.

I think that they keep it broken up this way to reduce size. A full year would be a novel of a notebook - but I feel you on wanting more.

I'm very happy you reviewed this journal. It does cover most of what I am looking for. If only there was a B5 version... that would be a direct buy!

Maybe good feedback for them for new versions. Do you tend to write a lot in your planners? Just professional curiosity on the size preference. :-)

My preference comes from little things... The main reason I prefer working with a B5 is that I can fold in half a letter format sheet and keep it inside the notebook without it stickin out! The B5 page area is also 45% bigger then the A5. It's good for my design sketches and it's easier to find in the mess that is my bag...
I use my notebook mainly as a life/professionnal logbook where I try (very very very hard) to write everything in it and avoid having dozens or hundreds of loose pieces of papers and post-it everywhere. It's not always a success, but it's getting better and better. Therefore, I do write a lot in it, but not in a journaling way. It's either meeting notes, design sketches or site survey markups (I'm an electrical engineer) and a lost of lists!
I also apply the bullet journal principle to keep track of tasks. In the B5 format, I often make my lists in 2 columns so I don't loose too much of that precious paper space.
I've tried integration planning spreads inside my notebook/journal, but have failed miserably at it. I barely get past the month mark doing so.
By the way, I did end up ordering the balance planner eventhough it's "only" a A5. I'm really looking forward to it as I feel it will take out the pain of making the planning spreads in my notebook. My B5 will continue to be my note-taking material.

Looks like something my hubs might like to have.

I was really thinking of getting one for my husband, but It's hard to justify the pricing. Can you recommend something similar?

You can save 10% off with my discount code MENWHOBULLET10n - but if that doesn’t save you enough, the only planner that is more work focused that I have come across is the Baronfig Do Work Journal. It’s a focus on work and milestones, but does not lead you through it and have reflection points like this one does. It exists because there isn’t anything else out there like it.

The one thing that puts me off is the price. Amazon does a similar one that is much cheaper.

What is the name of the Amazon one?

It’s just a faux leather. Usually some type of plastic / fabric that looks and feels leather like

    Seems unnecessarily gendered

It’s definitely a journal for anyone - the company just focuses on men

I’ve used the Mind Journal original one and have recommended it for any gender. If you look at why the guy started it he just recognised that men don’t seem as good to get thoughts out of the heads, either to put down in paper or to talk to someone. I’d say it’s aimed at men but open to everyone.
