    Hi. I tried but the led only fade in but not fade out. I used a 100uf capacitor with 50v as i could not find a 25v. Is this the reason why it does not fade out? All the connections are triple checked on my bread board.

    • @IdeasTv
      @IdeasTv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there's a strong link between fade in/out of LED with capacitor and it's capacitance so try to change your capacitor

      It worked. Thanks! Can this circuit work on a 12v LED bulb which is led 3014 bulb used in boats or cars? I've tried connecting it but it does not work. When I removed the capacitor, it lit up but does not blink. Only a normal 12v LED worked.

  • @tiagowarst

    If changing the DC to 5v, is the resistor the only thing I'll need to change in this same project?
    Is this fade in & fade out effect is while the DC on? Or fade in when turn on and fade out when turn off?

    • @IdeasTv
      @IdeasTv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no need to change, to run this circuit on 5VDC. Yes, but in fade IN/OUT phenomenon IC slowly decrease or increase the voltage instead of completely cut off.

      Ideas TV naw, I soldered them together... I’m using a 200k Ohm resister at 5 Volts, led output about 3 Volts (Perfect!!) at 47uF capacitor... should I just lower the resistor to... I dunno 150kOhms?
      Cuz when I moisten my fingers and touch both ends of the resistor, it blinks like a charm! 🤪

  • @agermangineer
    @agermangineer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, great video! If you lower the voltage to 5 V, will the 100 uF capacitor still fade in and out at the same rate? In other words: will the voltage only influence the brightness of the led?
    And: is the capacitor 16 V or 25 V?

    • @IdeasTv
      @IdeasTv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is no relation b/w voltage and fade in or out rate, and you can use both 16v or 25v capacitor but 16v is recommended here.
