    Your videos are so beautifully done, the atmosphere is so special. Congratulations to you 3 on the approach of a new baby. I really loved the way the onion skins and logwood take to the soymilk, the colours are so soft. The rainbow onesie is my favourite but your cushion fabric really turned-out beautifully too! You look wonderful in your ZW dress, I think it’s just too voluminous a design for my small frame though which is a bummer. The dress looks fantastic on you (love the colour too). Take care, I hope the worst of the nausea is over for you.

    BillyNou, you can prevent the gum arabic from lumping by adding it first to a very small amount of glycerol. No lumps! Then add to the soy milk x

    Hallo . Thank you . Really like the concept .
    I had a question , I have used soya milk as mordant now can I use alum acetate too to shift colour over soya milk. Or should it be alum acetate first . Also should we dry them in , under some shade or directly under the sun directly

    • @billynou
      @billynou  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello... so I would normally use alum acetate first ... that would be my preference as alum acetate is a mordant and chemically binds to to fibers where as soy milk is a binder and just coats the fibers but you could alsways try, you would still get results. Best to dry out of direct sunlight as sunlight can affect the colour fastness and bleach the colours 😊

    I'm sorry if this has been asked before but do the natural dyes run out of clothes when washing them? Or do they transfer at all? Is there a special washing method that differs from normal care instructions?

    • @billynou
      @billynou  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello ... so there’s so many factors involved in how long the colours “last”, fabric choice, mordant choice, fabric preparation, dye used etc etc but in general if you treat your naturally dyed fabrics gently, washing with cool water and ph neutral soap, the colours stand up pretty well. And it’s also nice to try and adjust your mindset a little... enjoying the fact that colours and tones can change over time because the colours are ALIVE. 🥰🥰

    For those allergic to soy or against soy due to Monsanto gmo frankensoy, what is the best natural alternative for the "paint"?

    • @billynou
      @billynou  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could try any milk which is high in protein.... there are also other ways of painting patterns like using iron water to shift the colours or maybe even a tannin solution. Lots to experiment with 😊
