You’re honestly the best teacher when it comes to perspective. Can’t believe you put out this quality, informative and easy to digest content for free.

This is a great example of how to properly use vanishing points and not putting them too close together. There are lots of examples of buildings on TH-cam but almost always the vanishing points are both on the page creating distortion. Thanks for putting in the effort Dan.

All of my previous art teachers used to tell me that perspective is hard and complicated to understand. So I thought it was like that, until I found this channel. Well then, they're all just simply bad at their job.
Thank you for sharing and teaching all of this! I feel like there will be a lot of great changes in my art and mindset.

Work on drawing organic figures ( check drawabox) then learn how to outline images with those techniques to transpose their form onto paper before detailing.

The adoption of the central perspective, introduced in Florence, Italy, around 1425 by Masaccio and Brunelleschi. Greetings from Italy.

I'm confused about something. I was drawing along and paused the video and replayed the part a couple of times when you did the elipse. How do you know where to draw the right-hand line of the rectangle when drawing it in perspective to make the elipse?
I drew my square with perfect measurements so then when I went to draw the one in perspective I knew the two sides had to be closer together, but didn't know how to measure how close. So I just guessed.
@ 6:00 - Now we're at the part where we're drawing the square: bottom left corner diagonal to right midline and up to top perspective line.
I know there is a lot of measuring and being very precise with drawing in perspective. Something someone born with no depth perception (me, true story) struggles a great deal with. Can you explain how you know where to put the inside vertical line? I want to get this right and not get confused because there's no coming back from that for a while because confusion starts to stack up.
This is a fantastic lesson! I really appreciate the help. I want to draw accurately, even if it's just a stick figure.
