Just be nice to one that may beginning not to understand things as quickly as before. I had to put my brother in a memory care unit 18 months ago, and I regret fussing at him a couple of years ago because I just didn’t understand what was happening to him. Be kind to everyone. They too may be going on that journey of not knowing what’s happening.

It pains me that he had to have this awful, horrible, confounding disease. My mother passed from complications due to Alzheimer's, and believe me, it is NOT their passing that is sad. I am so very sorry for his family having to watch this brilliant, vibrant, good and kind man turning into the person that Alzheimer's saw fit to leave them with.

I watched True Grit recently and have seen it several times. This last time I concentrated on Glens performance. For a music talent he really pulled off the acting part up against John Wayne and Kim Darby. He did a great job of acting.. not easy to do.

My father was always playing Glens music here in the UK when I was young and singng his songs he had a good voice, used to sing me to sleep with Gentle on My mind and others we lost him to Alzheimers like his great hero Glen Campbell. He always hoped one day to get to the states to see him play live - sadly not. Now Dad you may get to meet the great man when he walks into paradise with his guitar and brings his light as he did here RIP Glen - a truly GREAT man and musician. God Bless.

@stefannils2032 Okay, you are an atheist. We got that. But it is well documented that Glen was a committed Christian and he was proud to say it. If you don't like that that is your problem along with your friends at the ACLU. Freedom if speech and religion are cornerstone rights of being an American.

I was a sweet 16 year old boy when Glen seemed to be at his greatest, then there was also another man that shone in the same bright star, his name was Mr Neil Diamond, strange how two men could sing and have no equals, I should have been listening to BubbleGum music, but talent always wins out, hey Elvis and Mr Johnny Cash. RIP to y'all.

I can only wonder what must have gone thru Glen's mind when he realized that he could find and play the same sounds on his guitar that he had heard from any source.
In my mind, it didn't matter whether it was something that his touring uncle may have shown him (and kudos to him as well) or something that he may have heard on a record or on the radio.
That kind of " trade competence" knowledge and inspiration about its implications and possible career success, must have been empowering for Glen.
And then, I can only wonder what must have gone thru Glen's mind when he realized that he could possibly be one of the best pop-singers of all time.
Not only because of his voice's tonal quality and pitch range, but also because of his first composer choice: Jimmy Webb

Met him on a golf course and asked him if a country boy (me) could get a picture with him. He laughed and asked what country I was from. I told him I was from a small town east of Pittsburgh. He said you and Joe Nameth and I said Joe was a city .boy. I was from in the mountains and had one leg shorter than the other to walk around the mountain. Got a laugh from him. Got a picture with him I still cherish. Best I ever heard on playing a stringed instrument. My dad was like him in that he picked up any string instrument and played it. Great guy and great Instrumentalist.
