One VERY big thing not mentioned in this video is a feature that me and a friend realised about the game. Leading players on the team (Mario, Peach, Luigi etc) will occasionally ask for the ball. As a bit of character building, my friend who always plays as Wario noticed that he asks for the ball about 5 times as often, which is SO in character for him it's incredible. Wario CONSTANTLY shouts "GIMMIE THE BALL!" "I'M OPEN!" "PASS TO ME!" and it's so funny. He even does it in situations that aren't good for the team, man just wants to be the star player who hogs the spotlight.

A half assed game pumped out to fulfill merchandise release dates. Outsold a game with actual soul. This makes me concerned except for the fact that Next Level Game was bought by Nintendo which is what ended their asshole streak. If only by a bit.
This game just OOZES with so much edge and charm at the same time, it's a miracle this game got even made! Let's hope that easter egg in Luigi's Mansion 3 shows they have plans for a third game...

Super Mario Strikers Charged is set in like, an apocalyptic wasteland. That's unironically such a cool setting for a Mario game, and tbh I would love to play a Mario 3D platformer set in the strikers universe. I just think that could be super fun. *closes book* Like that's ever gonna happen.
That could mean that it’s probably canon that somewhere in the mario timeline an apocalypse happened meaning that there could be a possibility that the mario universe is connected to left for dead because an apocalypse happened in both and it’s just that they found a safe place to play soccer in also meaning that coach is coming to smash bros lets goooooooo

It’s so strange to me that Nintendo have made SO many Mario Tennis games every few years and are even going to release a Mario Golf game soon, but they haven’t made a Mario Strikers game in SO long, even though it was the sports game that probably has the most personality! I really hope that Next-Level games gets to make a new Strikers game in the future!

Not like I'm a huge soccer stan, but I had Mario Strikers on the Gamecube and I would buy it for nostalgia alone, not to mention the badassery it contained.

In Luigis Mansion: Dark Moon, theres a scene where you go into an elevator. (right before the first boss) The elevator music sounds similar to the pause screen music of Mario Strikers Charged.
That moment at 10:03 was so unexpected yet so fitting it had me doubled over in laughter. Not even halfway in and I already love your content so much. This game was a big part of my childhood and brought back incredible memories, so thanks for that. I always played with Daisy cuz I loved her no bs punk rock girl style, Luigi for that IMMENSENLY fitting flamenco music and gentleman persona, and Wario cuz jesus christ his animations are by far the funniest

I play soccer/football at a semi professional level here, and I love this game so much that every time I score I bring out a celebration directly from this game, especially Waluigi's and Petey's ones. My teammates don't get the reference, but they like the sassyness behind the Crotch Chop and the Petey walk.

Oh my god PLEASE. Gotta have him and maybe 1 more DK character and Rosalina, Pauline, and Toadette. Captain Toad would be funny too lol. If this roster was super expanded like the baseball game on Wii I’d be all for it. But that’d be too much work for all the extra music, voices, and animations probably. But Next Level would absolutely be the studio to do it. We already know they take their sweet time like first party Nintendo and Square Enix
The people at Next Level Games are wizards when it comes to animating. Mario Strikers, Punch-Out, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and 3, all of them have amazing animation for their systems.
Next idea: Mario Backstreet. It's a JSR-style Mario spinoff. All the characters are made similarly to Strikers and have to do skateboard tricks in a huge cel-shaded world.
I’d say: “ we just gonna ignore Pletey straight up eating someone in his victory animation?” But then I recall that level of Bloodthirsty it is nothing new for strikers
if anything, the most bloodthirsty one there would be peach or dk daisy could have had a place in this if she didn't have at least some level of self control

i swear over the years i have watched this video in full at least 20 times. i just love it so much. the writing, the humor, the actual info about the game itself, its just so perfect to me in all honesty
Daisy’s Overconfidence hit me like a truck also the game taught me not to piss Daisy off. Cuz fun fact if Daisy is 20 points don’t she literally explodes with rage and Camera cuts out and I think off camera Daisy Crystal smashes her sidekicks to death.
This game fooled me into thinking that sports in real life was this interesting. Then I got stuck watching a game where two teams kicked a ball up and down the field, act like a light brush destroyed their leg and eventually tying after 3 hours.
I think my favorite thing about Alax videos is that they aren't even reviews. They're just a guy who's a huge fan of a thing gushing about how much he loves the thing. It's so refreshing. We need more videos like these, just pure, unrestrained fandom. It's good shit.
Now that it's finally happened I can only dream that Battle League will have HALF the charm and detail this game had. It's such an incredibly high bar to pass they really did knock it out of the park with Charged.

I think I know the biggest problem with Battle League. Notice how the camera is more zoomed out from the previous games, yet the character models are relatively the same size. Thats because the court is smaller and less impactful. There's no variety on the actual stage, no potential hazards to avoid, and the actual map feels so much smaller. In Charged, the court almost never took up the whole screen, it felt large and in charge(pun intended) with a bunch of different races in the crowd. Now, its just the standard fare on a smaller, plainer stage. talk about disappointing.
Ngl, I really like Bowser Jr. He's adorable and I like the fact he's trying to impress Bowser but accidentally does good things instead XD He's spoilt and a handful but he's genuinely not a bad kid at all

Hopefully now that Nintendo has full ownership of NLG, this series can make a grand return. This game is amazing and deserves it more than any Mario spinoff.

The beautiful art they only used for the European boxart is actually on a shirt I got 10 years ago. I always felt the most badass when I wore that to school and even more so knowing it was boxart from another region!
I'm happy of the amount of praise you've given Strikers Charged. Seriously, it cannot be stated how creative Next Level is with the Mario IP. So much effort, so much attention to detail, and it's a fun game to boot. I absolutely adore the music...not just the character themes, but the stages as well and even the miscellaneous stuff like the intro music, pause music and sudden death theme. Classroom is just insanely catchy, and that crystal stage sounds like something from a country rock album.
Anybody else here after the disappointment of the new game? Let’s see how that game and this holds up, maybe the game will get better but yeah let’s see

Daisy’s Overconfidence hit me like a truck also the game taught me not to piss Daisy off. Cuz fun fact if Daisy is 20 points don’t she literally explodes with rage and Camera cuts out and I think off camera Daisy Crystal smashes her sidekicks to death.

I remember when my and my friends in elementary school would play Mario strikers charged and act like our dads watching the nfl it was a blast
This game fooled me into thinking that sports in real life was this interesting. Then I got stuck watching a game where two teams kicked a ball up and down the field, act like a light brush destroyed their leg and eventually tying after 3 hours.
That really depends on the team you support
you don't want football(soccer) for the game but for the fights lol
Beach soccer is almost like this.
Beats having to see a play for 5 minutes and timeout/commercials for 30 for about 4 hours

Now that it's finally happened I can only dream that Battle League will have HALF the charm and detail this game had. It's such an incredibly high bar to pass they really did knock it out of the park with Charged.

I think I know the biggest problem with Battle League. Notice how the camera is more zoomed out from the previous games, yet the character models are relatively the same size. Thats because the court is smaller and less impactful. There's no variety on the actual stage, no potential hazards to avoid, and the actual map feels so much smaller. In Charged, the court almost never took up the whole screen, it felt large and in charge(pun intended) with a bunch of different races in the crowd. Now, its just the standard fare on a smaller, plainer stage. talk about disappointing.
Also the gameplay is way slower unlike Charged
Ngl, I really like Bowser Jr. He's adorable and I like the fact he's trying to impress Bowser but accidentally does good things instead XD
He's spoilt and a handful but he's genuinely not a bad kid at all
That’s what I loved about Paper Mario the Origami King was how Bowser Jr. was handled

Hopefully now that Nintendo has full ownership of NLG, this series can make a grand return. This game is amazing and deserves it more than any Mario spinoff.

Careful what you wish for
I'm happy of the amount of praise you've given Strikers Charged. Seriously, it cannot be stated how creative Next Level is with the Mario IP. So much effort, so much attention to detail, and it's a fun game to boot. I absolutely adore the music...not just the character themes, but the stages as well and even the miscellaneous stuff like the intro music, pause music and sudden death theme. Classroom is just insanely catchy, and that crystal stage sounds like something from a country rock album.
This series is pretty wild for a Mario spin-off series.
