Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.
I agree. Robert Frost's poems look deceptively simple, but are actually very hard to recite. "Fire and Ice" is a tough one in my experience, and "The Road Not Taken" maybe even more so.
Using pauses is tricky. Intonation, too. In order to get them right, one has to forget about recitation - and what some people might expect that to be like. One should, instead, strive for the natural voice one unconsciously chooses in casual speech, which such poems are - which this kind of poetry is - supposed to be rendered in. The woman starts as if this text is part of a funny conversation, then she seems to think that, perhaps, she should turn serious - it is about serious matters that the poem speaks about, isn't it? Curious as to how she would try to better herself today!
Great poem speaking mam wonderful,😊
This poem looks deceptively simple at first glance, but is actually pretty hard to recite, in my experience. So well done Marianne!
agree. Few lines. Very precise ones. So if you've lost the context for a second, it's a failure
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
This poem is tough when recite but you were so serene.
Cool to see the poem performed live like this. I find it to be a tough poem to recite, so kudos to the reader here.

I have recently recorded reciting this one too. Interesting to see other people's reciting
