I think it’s a good idea. As we get older, broken bones can be more disabling. I’m looking for some road bike boots. I have a street bike. And I need more flexibility so I can walk easily around town
That is absolutely the downside to the MX boots, they are not made for walking. Ideally once I have more experience I will look at either a second pair of boots, like ADV boots or a MX boot has more tread for walking and slightly more travelling biased. I hate walking in these things.
Nice Video.. One thing I always do now when ordering boots is order them in Euro sizing (in my case size 45). I have seen the conversion from US to Euro sizes all over the place from a size 10.5 to size 12 all being listed as Euro 45. Now for boots I have some older Alpinestar Tech3 for my dirt boot, and use a BMW VentureGrip GTX Boot for my mixed road/dirt boot. I also have a set of Noru Tsua WP boots for around town and on-road touring. These boots are actually good, and affordable.
@@thudtheace Thanks for the compliment, and info on sizing. I’m glad I now know about that sizing discrepancy before ordering something online and having it be the wrong size.
This is more evidence that you’re not a squid. LOL I wear touring boots and I have a similar issue with a rough edge on the inner side of the top part of the boot. If I don’t have my socks pulled up high enough that edge rubs against my leg and drives me crazy.
It seems like a strange place to put rough edges or even the raised lettering like mine do. I'm surprised to hear that about touring boots I thought they for certain would have been made to be more comfortable all around. I'll just ask for tall socks for Christmas.

I always ride in a MX boot Alpenstars Teck 7 and carry a hiking boot for walking around off the bike.
