I cannot believe that someone as crazy as Richard Chase actually walked the streets. Just think of how many more people like that walk among us on a daily basis, undetected. It gives me the chills.
It’s insane! You truly never know anyone and it’s such a small world. I live 6 houses down from where Joseph DeAngelo lived and experienced the day he was caught & arrested in person. I already knew I had some wack neighbors but that was the icing on the cake. Now I don’t trust anyone 😂

The guy telling that story from his perspective is a PoS too for not alerting any medical or psychiatric professionals of this obviously deranged man who clearly was disturbed and needed mental help. This is what happens when you selfishly ignore the signs.

No.. as soon as I heard his room mate richard was holding an Orange on top of his head, I knew who it was. I’ve read several books on RTC.. before he got to the murder stage he had hypochondriac tendencies and thought he could absorb vitamin c through his skin… it moved onto eating animals or road kill, then of course it escalated to humans. Whatever he thought his condition was he believed he needed to choose larger living things to stop the condition progressing. It’s such a shame… his mother and the authorities failed him badly. He was a good student who started developing schizophrenic tendencies at adolescence. No one knew how to handle him. So very sad the murders could have been avoided

As a general rule, we're supposed to take these stories with a grain of salt because a good number of them are probably made up. In this case, the writer usually only refers to Richard by his first name until the end, where he gives us his last name, and by extension the ability to look him up. Then it hits you that while the story might still have been made up, the man himself WAS real.
The last guy created a completely fictional person to cope with his bad trip. I've tripped numerous times throughout my life. Halloween Parties, Phish, The Dead, the Woods. And I've had bad trips. But I've never had a fictional hallucination. Never seen something that wasn't there. My surroundings went totally out there. But never created something out of nothing. It's very interesting that a first timer would create a hallucination. Very....
Exactly I've tripped alot in my life and I've never created something that wasn't there. I've had bad trips too but it was all related to the mindset I had before the trip. But my hallucinations always had my world in it just a little different. Trails etc.. I loved tripping and it helped me through times in my life.
