This amazing concert brings together some of the true pioneers of rock 'n' roll music including Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, James Brown, Fats Domino and B.B.King. Recorded in Italy in 1989 it features these legendary artists in performance of their best loved tracks such as Papa's Got A Brand New Bag, Bo Diddley, Great Balls Of Fire, Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On and Blueberry Hill. At the end of the concert all the performers come together for all-star jam that leaves the audience hollering for more. It's a rare event indeed that brings so many great live performers together on one bill and this DVD captures the real excitement of the evening.

I am 66 yrs. of age and I have listened to BB King for most of those years and have always found his music to be the finest blues there is and ever was. When I was 16 and playing the Beatles and Stones he still was an influence in my style of playing. One has to love Mr. King.

I had the pleasure of meeting him in person at the blues museum in indianola Ms ..that we built named after him ..he performed a small concert for us that worked on museum as well ..had him sign my hard hat ..truly a legendary performer
I got to see him at CLUB PARADISE, LIVE, MEMPHIS, TN. '70's. Small venue. Fabulous!

Not just one genre - his guitarwork has laid the ground for the style in which almost every single guitarist plays the guitar today in terms of soloing. It does not really matter whether that genre is rock, metal, blues or country.

A brand new upload from the INCREDIBLE "Legends of Rock n' Roll" DVD. This was the prelude the final Jam (already on TH-cam) which is finest piece of Rock n' Roll ever recorded. You'll notice that at the beginning of the Jam, B.B. was already on stage, and the Jam chord progression and groove also follows this song. YOU CAN'T MISS EITHER OF THESE TWO CLASSICS!

It's also the lead in for the All-Star jam at the end of the concert. If you haven't listened to that one, you've really missed something. There's a short and long version on TH-cam. The long one is raw and great, but the short one has the vocals cleaned up. The short one clearly shows how the stars picked up where B.B. left off. I've listened to both hundreds of times, and they never get old. Don't miss it!

electric blues and rock are pretty similar though. after all, rock is just a more modern white people version of blues with the blue notes taken out and all the chords played as power chords. Johnny B Goode is a great example of how electric blues and rock were almost indistinguishable at one point.

No he/she doesn't. This is Blues. Rock does come from Blues, but this is a different genre, Blues. Don't compare Rock to Blues, different things. If you say Rock is similar to Blues, it is, so is Blues and Jazz, but he does not need a lesson in music, he is right, and don't say I am wrong, I am studying music as a Jazz/Blues/Rock guitarrist.

When I first went to see BB King, I went there by bus. And the bus ran out of gas. So we smoked a little dope. When we finally arrived, B B was playing already and I thought: if I were a Christian, I would believe that Jesus is on the stage.
I respect King totally, and there's no questioning his place in music history, but why does it seem to me like his blues solos all follow the same format? I can predict what he's going to play nearly to the note..The riffs sound the same for each tune. He doesn't ever seem to experiment with new harmonies or fast runs, or otherwise play "outside the BB King box".. Just my opinion.
