The Ninja Turtles inspired me to do Martial Arts, and my two favorite Ninja Turtles are Raphael, and Donatello
Just in time for Shredder’s Revenge!
Cobra Kai and Karate kid inspired me to do martial arts!
My favorite turtles has to be Michael Angelo!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I agree
Michaelangelo is my favorite because of his nunchucks. I never liked the manriki-gusari or the grappling hook, but the nunchucks are COOL!!!
I've always loved TMNT! They also got me into martial arts. I used to favor Leo's weapons, but I've come to appreciate Donny more. My personal favorite weapons are the mid to short swords and single stick
It’s cool how we evolve through our years! I appreciate Donnie so much more now than I did as a kid. 👍🏻
My favorite is Leonardo's dual swords. I practice double sticks all the time because of that.
Mine too!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I just started 3D printing and got a file for Shredders Armor bro. It will be so dope when done! 😂
If you’re on Instagram you’ll have to tag me in it when it’s done! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@kalicenter Will do! It is perfect timing to see this! Lol! I am working on Batman Arkham Origins armor now. Shredder is next. Then Dr. Fate.
Paul this is a creative vid sharing ur childhood inspiration. Thanks for sharing. Dig how u incorporated Filipino Kali with the Ninja Turtles. Kudos. Anticipating ur next one.
Thanks you! 🙏🏻 more to come!
The definitely had a part in it, but for me it was the old 70s Kung Fu movies they'd play on the weekend- Kung Fu Theatre.
Loved the nunchaku, made my own sets in junior high and high school.
For Kali, Jeff Speakman's The Perfect Weapon movie got me to make my own Kali sticks and case in 91.
Great stuff Paul!
Heck yes I'd watch Headbangers ball on MTV and then flip over to Kung Fu theater on USA channel. That was my Saturday nights
@@vulgarprophet2689 Headbangers Ball, hell yeah! Those were the days.
Correct me if i'm wrong but the Sai's aren't about thrusting at all 🤔
They were used by the law enforcement like a Tonfa. The original Sai's also had a ball at the end for striking rather than thrusting.
it is used more for locking techniques if I remember correctly and to parry sword strikes
yep more on Wrist locking Disarming Purposes and Incapacitating
thats the Job of Jutte
manji sai
and sai
Awesome video, I ran into you after filming it. Have been waiting for it to come out.
Hi Jacob, 🙏🏻 it was great meeting you at GOG! Check out my new Vlog channel for the behind the scenes stuff! th-cam.com/video/pPNX5ZGWgeQ/w-d-xo.html
@@kalicenter subscribed:)
Donny is my fave. The bo staff is the closest to rattan sticks that we used at school when I was in the 4th grade here in the Philippines.
That’s pretty cool!
And not you're like matter splinter, teaching a whole new generation the ways. Such a cool video. Are those colored shirts available in the shop?
I like Donatello, if I am remembering correctly he is the oldest and could lead but choses to let Leo lead recognizing that Leo is the better choice. What started on martial arts was Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Robin thought he was done with war but when he returned home he found he had one left.
Yes, he’s the oldest! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@kalicenter Where did that information come from I’ve never heard that before I always remember seeing Leo was the oldest
@@ThePlasticBowl different series they always change it up so it kinda confuses the fans
leos oldest on evey version
What a kick Paul! Now that I'm doing Kali, I have new appreciation for why folks enjoyed the ninja turtles. I didn't let my sons watch it years ago though lol. I enjoyed this!
Leo was always my favorite. Training in Samurai arts was a dream for me, but the Kali always influenced me. I actually like using a wakazashi or two because they are the same length and overall weight of Philippine weapons. They blend very well. Great video 👍🙏☯️
That’s awesome! 👍🏻
You did really good that was awesome Im a huge fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too I love them
Thanks! 🙏🏼👍🏼🐢
Leonardo-The Leader In Blue. Weapon of Choice: Katana Blades
Raphael-The One In Red, Cool, But Rude. Weapon of Choice: Twin Sais
Michaelangelo-The Party Dude In Orange: Weapon Of Choice: Twin Nunchucks
Donatello: The One In Purple That Does Machines. Weapon of Choice: Bo Staff
Which Ninja Turtle is your favorite? If so,what weapon would you collect? Me? I choose the nunchucks.
Afaik there were 2 Filipinos in the 90s TMNT movies, one was ernie reyes jr. as donatello (credited as stuntman) i. TMNT 2, and Shishir inocala as Leonardo in TMNT 3, both in the 90s.
SO fun filming this one !!!
👍🏻
My journey started 30 years too.. cheers my friend 🍻 🐢 🥋
Cheers 🍻
Old Martial Arts movie called Crippled Avengers, The Five Deadly Venons.
Also, Sifi Lee.
Great video.
All but the chucks taught in hung kuen. At this point cane and knife the only weapons I can use. I use to call myself a middle aged broken shaolin turtle.
for me I was at theage of 7 and I am positive I heard and saw a Lightsaber before I ever trained any weapon arts. so star wars is my childhood inspiration
My favorite was Rafael, he was sarcastic and edgy and the sais looked really cool
Ralph does have the sharpest edge 👍🏻
It's Raphael,not Rafael!
In the (Bruneian) Silat Suffian Bela Diri, they use the 'Sai' but it's called 'Tekpi' so you're not really far off, but that's just my opinion. 👍🏻 Not a Ninja Turtles fan BUT, my favorite artist is Leonardo Da Vinci. 🤷🏻♂️ This is the funniest, most interesting segment you've produced, so far & it caught me off guard. I thought you were going to mention names of late instructors who have passed on, when they turn out to be Ninja Turtle characters, 😸. Great t-shirt marketing you got there! 👍🏻
Ang galing mo idol pwd allburen ko ung nunchako
Great video and great storytelling. But isn't the sai/tjabang part of Kali?
BTW: My inspiration to learn martial arts started with the Kung Fu fad of the early 70's, particularly a Dynamite magazine cover story about Bruce Lee and Marvel's Deadly Hands of Kung Fu comic.
I don't think I've ever seen Sai fully utilized in Kali. Though most bladed/edged weapons can be incorporated into the martial art. It's not a traditional weapon that came from here in the Philippines or in South east asia.
To Add: Seems like there is a weapon similar to a Sai called Tekpi which is mostly used in Silat.
I'd say my favorite character from tmnt is raphael second would be michelangelo and I actually have been thinking about doing martial arts for fun and for exercise
Bruce Lee got me started in Martial arts ! I do Rember watching TMNT with my daughters when they were growing up . Now , my Grandchildren are watching TMNT ! Cowabunga !
Master Bruce Lee is why I’m here 🖤🥋
I collected all 4 TMNT weapons for my birthday, and I think the nunchucks are my favorite. What is your favorite TMNT weapon?
Raf was my favorite with the sai's but dident leo have katana's?
Mine was the Last airbender characters then directly aftr… the brothers

Honestly raph would be solid with long Kali karambits especially double edged
My favourit is Leo too.
But I can't tell you where my inspiration comes throu 🤷🏼♂️
I belive it comes from the Martial Arts and Action Movies and games from the 90s (Jet Lee, Mortal Kombat etc.).
Sry for my bad english and nice greeds from Germany 😺✌
My Kali teacher Greg said I'd be Casey Jones.
I feel more like Rafael; both weapons and attitude wise.
My favorite though, is Mikey.
Who doesn't love Mikey!?
My son's favorite is Leonardo Donatello raphael And Michaelangelo 1:55
I really like to see sai weapon techniques
They are fun!
I really wasn't into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but I'm a little older than some folks feels like Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris got me in the martial arts. Then we had all the ninja movies that came out which were cool. Damn man you make me feel old. LOL
🤣 Bruce Lee was definitely an inspiration of mine too!
Let's order piiiiizzzzzaaaaaaa!!!!
Mikelangelo is my favorite 🧡
👍🏼
RAPHEAL!and my inspiration for getting unto martial arts was probably Bruce lee, and a bit of chuck noriss and pretty much all of the 90s action heros
Bad guy cuts Donatello's Bo staff in half
Donatello: Oh you just made a biiiig mistake
Definitely if the TMNT trained in Kali!
@@kalicenter exactly hehe
Leonard
i like all of them .. :)
It is difficult to choose one!
me i Inspired to Learn Nunchakus
by Bruce Lee
Sho kusugi
Yasuaki Kurata
Sue Shihomi
Moon Lee
For me was Hokuto No Ken, Fist of the North Star
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I don't think Greg would disagree with the attitude part
My favorite is raph
👍🏼
Leonardo
Nicd
Leo is my favorite
My favorite is Mikey Siri🐢
Favorite Ninja Turtle: Mikey all day baaaay-beeee, the soul of the team, the best guy in the foxhole-the one who can make you laugh when the heat is on.
Martial arts fictional inspiration: It's a toss up between Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat, with a side of Batman. Not that TMNT wasn't a factor....
Nice knives ❤️❤️❤️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So beautiful
Thanks 🙏🏻
I'm pretty sure he's making fun of Jake mace at this point could be wrong but I don't think so
No need to make fun of Jake. TMNT is my real first martial arts inspiration. 👍🏻
Miki
Rafael
Is that cat your sensei? Tengu?
He is the true sensei!
Machine!!
👍🏻
Donatello
i like the turtles, but chuck norris got my interest piqued,
👍🏻👍🏻
Shouldn’t there be a stack of Pizzas somewhere?
I wish!
Strong blue Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo
The thing is that they are Ninjas, as in feudal Japan, they are not trained in Filipino Martial Arts, they are trained in Ninjutsu, the weapons are Katanas for Leonardo, the Bo Staff for Donatello, Sais for Raphael, and Nun chucks for Michelangelo, they would never use this style of martial arts
It’s just a fun TH-cam video yo. Don’t take it so seriously. 👍🏼
@@kalicenter I am not trying to be rude, just stating facts
@@crazycgaming3074 can you not read the title? It says if as in it's a hypothetical situation or idea
@@OatmealGrillBlazer still a point, they use ninja/samurai weapons, I say samurai because the side weapon of the samurai is the katana, point is that these are not weapons the ninja turtles would use
😸🤦🏻♂️👍🏻
bruce lee.
Nice! 👍🏻
Which ninja turtle is your favorite? Leo, Mikey, Donnie or Ralph? ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Donatello was my fav. TMNT was a big reason I wanted to learn martial arts but the Power Rangers was what really did it. My cousins and I would play like we were Power Rangers for hours. Lol!
Raph was my fave.
