I understand the one Forest in the land base is for Bushwhack, but you have no double-green spells in the list. That means if you're even casting Bushwhack, you already have all the green you need. The odds of missing turn-4 Obliterator are higher than (a) needing to cast two separate fight spells, (b) having an Obliterator on board already, (c) having two fight spells in your hand, AND (d) having two green sources to cast them.
It can be relevant to cast two fight spells on one turn, for instance to beat instant-speed removal. Also is important to have an out to Demolition Field on your green source.
@@davidhansen5067 it is also possible for your opponent to Boseiju you before your second turn. Starting triome with swamps in hand, Boseiju would be devastating without the forest
@@derekcline950 Huh? You just get another Triome if they Boseiju. Demofield/Ruin makes more sense, but it only wrecks you if they have one in hand before turn 5-6, they choose to activate it that early instead of being proactive, and you don't have 2+ green sources. As someone who plays a suite of colorless lands in Mono-W including the fields, I'm not activating that early unless I have absolutely nothing else to do.

@12:25 wouldn't it have been more wise to attack with the obliterator you have on board, if they block they trade and still sacrifice if they dont you get 5 damage then can still fight and play the new one you have in hand?

8:24, what is wrong with casting Glissa here? A death touch first strike is a potent blocker. Fighting Reflection to protect Glissa from Ertai Resurrected getting copied isn't necessary because Reflection can't copy legendaries. You could, if you wanted, use Glissa to fight fable if you wanted. I would think casting Glissa might buy the time needed to go obliterator into fight spells.
As soon as you build a deck and put an obliterator in it'll add like 24 swamps. Those are free . Play matches and do the dailies and weeklies and just do non competitive until you get cards and open phyrexian packs. Or spend money lol
Fight means "two target creatures deal damage to each other equal to their power", so while it might seem similar to attack/block, it is different that abilities like First or Double Strike are ignored. Keep in mind that the creatures are still the sources of the damage, meaning stuff like Deathtouch or Lifelink (or, in this deck's case, Obliterator's sacrifice trigger) still works
Did it die from a fight? Cause Fight doesn't care about first strike. Yeah it's a flavor fail, but WotC considered the extra wording and complexity to not be worth it.
The +1/+1 on the Underdog against the token on the first Superfriends matchup wasn't actually that important, you could have crewed the Bankbuster with the Underdog that was gonna fight. Underdog would have died, but you still would have had the 4 power to kill opponent.
Ok this deck was less a real brew and more a "play the best black spells (+glissa) in the format, except we also put in 8 fight spells." Eh its still pretty fun.
Abilities with the same trigger follow the APNAP rule. This means the active player (the opponent) puts all triggered abilities they control on the stack in any order they want (Sheoldred on draw in this case) followed by the non-active player putting all abilities they control on the stack in any order. Since it was the opponent's turn, they were the active player and Seth's trigger resolves first.
If rotpriest wanted to be a deck that was good enough to play in bo3 i think they would need a functional reprint of rotpriest so they could run 8 copies lol
In response to the rotpriest Combo. I think your opponent severely misplayed. If you have multiple protection spells you shouldn't do a protection in response to the duress and tap out. So I think it doesn't work in BO3 but your opponent also didn't play that well IMO.
The poison ivy player has very obviously never piloted that style of deck before. You never are supposed to play your threats without protection up. I also don’t like the corrupted cards in that deck. Those are for dedicated toxic decks. The poison ivy deck should be played either as a tempo deck with a combo finish or a dedicated combo.
