Rich Mullins would probably still be here today if he and Mitch McVicker didn’t take a drive the rainy night of September 19, 1997. Oh well he’s in Heaven and that’s all that matters.
This was recorded near the end of his life, when he was living on the reservation. That's where he got so tanned. It was around the same time he wrote "Madeleine's Song." At that time, she was 16 months old. She died when she was two. Her father, James Bryan Smith, was a close friend of Rich. Within a matter of months, he lost Madeline, Rich and his Mom. He wrote a marvelous book about Heaven called "Room of Marvels" to help him deal with his grief and anger at God. I highly recommend it.
