I Replaced My DJI Ronin S With THIS Gimbal [2020 Gimbal Footage]

  • In this video we compare my DJI Ronin S gimbal with a formidable competitor, the Feiyutech AK4500. Spoiler alert: I don't use the DJI Ronin S nearly as much as the other. Feiyutech has proved to be a fantastic DSLR gimbal with a heavy duty payload that just handles big cameras so much better, whereas the DJI Ronin S struggles under strain.
    In this video we compare the two, as well as show you some test footage.

    Any ideas on hard-shelled cases for travel. Feiyutech seems to not provide an accessory case like the Ronin. I have the dual handgrip, gimbal essential kit that I would all like placed within the same case instead of having them separate.

    • @SamBischof
      @SamBischof  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      One of my least favorite things about that gimbal for sure! The case is a pain and I haven’t been able to find a 3rd party case that’s any good. I end up just breaking it down and packing it in a bag with cushioning around it. Thanks for watching! I just released a new video on the Zhiyun Crane 2s as well n

    I wish they made another ring shaped gimbal that actually made sense ergonomically. Shoulder width, displaces weight evenly, tilt, flip, and pan without the very oddly heavy and uncomfortably shaped single handle.

    • @SamBischof
      @SamBischof  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! The single handle is awkward to use over long periods of time. Thanks for watching!

    Hay, I use the AK4500 and it's amazing. I did get a Pelican case for traveling. Another thing I pickup is another set of batteries, just reload and go. As you said DJI ripoffs other companies that has better products. One other thought is that DJI to seems comes out with new products to saturate the market. As the next ¿¿¿(BEST)??? thing that can't live without. Or can you? Keep up the great work. Cheers

    • @SamBischof
      @SamBischof  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for watching and for the thoughtful comment! I agree the AK4500 is far superior to the Ronin S. Pelican case sounds like a great idea as well as the extra batteries.

    hey sam, there is something about feiyutech gimbals that makes the video feels super smooth. i often warp my vids on my zhiyun but on the feiyutech its always stable pre warp. i love it, i wonder if im doing it wrong or feiyutech is on another level.

    Hey I'm about to purchase one of these TODAY for a Sony a6600. Love that you made this video. But can I ask some questions about the Feiyu app? I've seen a lot of comparisons between Zhiyun and Dji apps. Zhiyuns are not only confusing, but issues with the tracing and force follow are terrible comparatively. lol this is a huge ask but would you mind comparing them and getting back to me? Seems like I should do Feiyu tech, but the app scares me. Thoughts?

    • @usernamehandle

      Also totally subbing dude! So difficult to find good camera channels you can trust, actually try to be informative. AND are entertaining? Nice

    • @SamBischof
      @SamBischof  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man! Really appreciate the sub and the support. Glad you found this video useful. To be totally honest, I've used the Feiyutech gimbal on so many shoots and never once opened the app. You can change all the settings from the menu on board the actual gimbal. The app is totally usable, it's just not amazing. But I've honestly found no reason to use it. I've also owned the Zhiyun gimbals and this is much better. Hope that helps. Thanks!

    • @usernamehandle
      @usernamehandle 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sam Bischof Ahh alright! Thought I'd ask but realistically... hard to admit to myself but, I probably won't use the app much either. Hopefully it's very gucci

    • @TexpatOTG
      @TexpatOTG 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The app doesn't work for shooting in 24 fps with my gimbals only 30 fps. But honestly I hardly ever use the app because everything is available on the handles. I have old models, but you would even have more on-gimbal controls on the newer AK series gimbals.

    • @usernamehandle

    I have 2 Feiyu gimbals. Feiyu SPG for smartphone that died this month, and an a2000 with handle kit. The a2000 hasn't had a problem. I don't use their app, it is awful. I probably would look for alternatives to Feiyu Tech before I bought another one. The SPG was a real disappointment. I think both are probably pretty good ... as was your comparison.

    • @SamBischof
      @SamBischof  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Outside of the app, I have actually been really happy with the AK4500. It works great. But I can't speak for the smaller gimbal options as I have not tested them.

    Hi,
    Does it work with an EM1 mk II? Is it any flaw with Olympus cameras? I would like to use it with my EM1 II for filmmaking but before investing into it I would like to be sure that I am not throwing out my money :) There is no Olympus camera on the compatibility list. You did not have any issue with you EM1X?
