Thanks for showing me how difficult it is to sing something that doesn't work. Hopefully I can rely more on my ear now. Your videos are so helpful! They take the mystery out of singing. You are a superb teacher because you break it down and keep it simple.
This is great! Thank You for the download link. I would love to see more videos about that. Actually I perform in quite a different genre, but I do use some of these techniques to spice it up and make the sound more diverse.
Dear, this is fantastic! I notice a change in my voice and singing after only 2 days watching you. I know to sing but, I do not know to sing properly. Thank you for this help!
I just realized that I usually do it when I sing at home. Kind of humming, but trying ti keep those notes that are needed for the actual song.. (Sounded like I can sing good, but it's actually not the case, I'm just digging deep into these technical things to improve :') )
Hey Great video.. Would LOVE to know more about improvising.. Im a new singer in a mostly rocky band and I cannot improvise.. unless I copy exactly what the original song does.. Some examples etc would be fantastic.. THNX
Hello! My difficulty improvising is that I make every song sound the same especially with blues... Also with creating the lyrics while singing, sometimes they get repetitive. I wanted some help with blues themes, just like the way you did on the first part of this video... can you especify that a little more? And give some other tips os themes that you can work on, so when you are singing in a blues scale the songs don't seem to be the same Thanks!
***** Hi Barbara, one thing you can do to change things up is to focus on rhythm. Its all about creating space in the music. Miles Davis is a great example of this in action. Just pick one note and improvise on that making it interesting simply by altering the rhythm. Just give it a go. If you have trouble, sing along with Miles :)
when I improvise I always follow the chords or a basic given melody for the first few seconds. Then I cut that melody into smaller parts and at the end of one of these parts I just sing something else than the melody. and then I just keep singing anything that might fit. I go up and down with my voice. I f you know someone who can play an instrument (preferably guitar because hearing mainly chords really helps) ask that person to practice with you. just meet and sing some songs. After some time it will get boring to just sing the melody so you start to improvise almost naturally. And once you've found the courage to get away from the regular melody you will notice that improvising is really easy. even if you don't know the song. Just sing the melody to get familiar with it and then sing something else. Improvise on songs that are on the radio. Just practice once you've started.
Pretty helpful exercises, you earned my like and subscription lol Question tho, can I improvise to any instrumental I choose? And will it become a crutch if I don't sing acapella?
In Cirque du Soleil, many performers mess up on a trick in this case does a singer have to improvise when a performer re-does a trick, or needs to quickly come up with something that fits with the song until there next que, in order to continue the song?
please make more videos about improvisation!!!!!!
+Amelia Brash will do! Its one of my favourite topics :)
