    I have leather black and brown belts. My casual belts are two football belts. One sand colored and the other tan. I only wear the football belts when my shirt is out. For me. They are quickly to adjust and can't he worn out. Video right on time as I'm currently matching Ferragamo drivers and belts.
    Salute.

    Should also get a wide enough belt for casual jeans because if it’s too narrow, the belt loops will buckle and overlap the belt. The belt should just squeak through the loops snug like.

    What color belt do you recommend for gray, white, maroon, or olive dress shoes?

    • @alvinsanchez967
      @alvinsanchez967 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for what color belt to shoes, it generally applies to leathers. Match your leathers and match your metals. Using non-leather belts can be used to get around that rule. Fred Astaire was known to use a tie instead of a belt at times and some other classic dress stars of the past did at times not use belts but side adjuster on their pants.
      I think for the non-standard color dress shoes (non-black or non-browns) choose a belt color that does not match the dress shoe but compliments the whole outfit. The maroon dress shoe can still go with any dark red leather belts like chili, oxblood, or burgundy.

I was concerned about scratches, flaking, and tarnishing on the buckle at this price point, but I haven’t had any issues.

    Didn't mention the gig line. I think lining up the belt with the gig line is bad advice, unless you're in a military uniform. The shirt and fly should line up, but the belt buckle should be perfectly centered.

    • @michaelblazin4093
      @michaelblazin4093 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your goal is to always look intentional. You don’t ever (even if you do) want to look like you just rolled out of bed and threw some things on.
      Aligning the buckle with the line cements the deal.

    Jeff, I disagree with you on the number of belts most guys need is not three but four. One in black and one in a dark shade of brown in both dress belt size and in causual belt size.
    For me, I went with six the additionals are a dress belt in walnut and a casual belt in tan. Allen Edmonds had a very good sale at that time and I limited myself to just six. I was strongly tempted to grab a blue dress belt and some other belts going over what I wanted to spend rather than just the four basics. I made a compromise and went with the six with the sales price still keeping within the budget I had set for myself.
    Hopefully this spring/summer season I will get some braided leather casual belts and some Anson belts in non-leathers especially a red/white/blue strap for the Fourth of July.
