Look up classic GE Powercall. A lot of sirens back then had wails like that. Take into example the GE Powercall and the Federal PA-5.
I called to report that my nabors house was on fire. I know 1 reason why 1 station got there so fast because it was 100 feet away but like 20 seconds later a ladder truck and to engine trucks came and i know for a fact that there station is 2 miles away
