My father brought one home from WWII after fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood were learning about firearms and shooting it with him. Thanks for renewing the memories!
Another great video, thank you. I have shot an M1 a few times and it doesn't recoil that bad. A few years ago I took a trip to the Springfield Armory in Springfield Mass. It was a very worth while trip, there is alot of history there. It is a National Historic Site.
I would think that would be an awesome stop for any firearm enthusiast! I don't get up into New England much but if I ever do I will certainly make the time. Thanks for the view.
Wow! What a thing to have worked with Mr. Garand. It is hard to actually get the personality of an iconic figure when you are researching this sort of thing. The facts are the facts but the person is often still a bit of a riddle. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
When I joined the M-14 was the weapon of the day. However, many years later I had the opportunity to fire the M-1 at "Battlefield Vegas." It's truly a remarkable piece. I would have no problem using the M-1 to defend my home. Thank you Mr. Garand.
