Does anyone know why I don't have an "add new" button when I am in my dashboard area and I hover on appearance and click on themes? There is no "add new" button. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Hi i need to work with and old theme, i download the folder theme from: wordpress.org/themes/unite/, but right now i dont know how to upload the theme files to WP, i zipped the folder and try to use the Upload theme tool, but it doesn't work, what can i do to upload this theme, thanks in advance for the help.
I know what was happening, the safari was unzipping the file and creating the folder.. i already resolve this but im still having this error message: Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2018/06. Is its parent directory writable by the server?.... by the way im working in OSx High Sierra with the last WP release

OK, i solve the permission issue, but now when i try to upload the theme file... the WP ask me for an FTP server credentials, any idea how to solve this, or where do i get the ftp server user and password??
When I click on add new and then popular in the theme section nothing happens. The link reads "ic38.online/wp-admin/theme-install.php#" I think the reason for the error is the "#" at the end, but I don't know how to solve the problem.
I can't understand anything on the details and preview page of the theme? How to find out which feature and plug-ins does a theme support before installing it
If you are worried about a plugin conflict with a theme then you would want to reach out to that specific theme's support and they should let you know if there are any issues.

Are you the admin of your site and are you on a self hosted site rather than a WordPress.com site?

Our tutorial is for WordPress.org. If you are trying this on WordPress.com the admin area should be similar if you go to the wp-admin of your site.

When you downloaded the theme it should have come in a zip file, you should not need to place it in a zip yourself which could be the issue.

You would reach out to your hosting provider and they would have that information :)

You may be having trouble with the popular tab, you may want to check if the other tabs are having the same issue.
