You are right. We have lead comfortable lives, which is why this hurts so much. Let's hope that God refines us, grows us in maturity, and gives us awareness of the suffering that other people experience.

Hello Nicky from Melbourne. I thank God I did your Alpha course through my local Catholic Church in Melbourne 2 years ago. I truly believe it has led me to this moment where I can listen to your sermons online. I agree about how the world is changing. I said this to friends within the first few weeks of lockdown. I work as a Teacher and had the exact discussion with students about how I have never seen so many families playing together in parks (whole families! Mum Dad and children exercising together), children out in parks, people saying hello and being kind to each other. I also believe that God doesn't let bad things happen but he will use whatever is going on to make things better. I have not seen this since the 70s or 80s. I think the last time I saw children out on streets together skating on skateboards was most likely 1985. I am genuinely grateful for the current changes taking place. I feel as if people have stopped being selfish. And are starting to turn towards each other rather than away. Finally! Hallelujah! #becauseeveryonehasrealisedweareallinthisworldtogether

I’ve never missed an Alfa course, whenever offered in Bermuda . I’ve had the privilege to help lead groups. I would not pray directly to the Holy spirit: But, oiI will pray to God in Jesus name. No-one gets to the Father except through the Son (Jesus).
