NISSOC 2024 - Long

North Island Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships (NISSOC) - Long - (public race)
Mairetahi Forest, an hour North of Auckland - mix of terrain, and lots of elevation (that I luckily missed on this course, except for the walk uphill to the start) - didn't encounter any deer, but others did.
Only had 30 minutes before having to drive a van back so did the shortest course that was available - yellow level. It was still fun
Intermediate Boys course - Yellow level 2.9km 16 controls - many thanks to Alex and Geoff, and of course NWOC for organising.

Could you help us understand your route choice on 2 to 3? Did they ask you to not to cross the fence? Or was it the fight that made you go around?

@thog1234 Good question :) Actually it was neither. One of the main reasons why I ran this particular course was because I wanted to film a Yellow run. I'm editing another version of it with commentary to help my Yellow runners with simple techniques - so I tried not to get too complicated during the run. However, I'm from a running background so normally I stick to tracks as often as possible because it's my strength, so possibly I would have run this anyway? The Red courses were mad and had so much running through green - glad I missed those ;)
