I got my t-shirt today in the green color. Love it! If I ever get to go thrifting in Pa. I’ll wear it while shopping in Banana Box Antiques!! Thanks CLL!!
I couldent buy to sell like you do especialy seeing the lovley things you choose i would want to find somewhere to put them in my home and it would just end up being a hoarders house.i just adore all those pretty dishes.
Went on vacay and left my electronics home so I'm binge watching a week's worth of vids. Tried antiquing at our destination. There were no bargains to be had. I guess the saying there's no place like home could mean in vintage shopping too.
You should really consider bringing some towels with you to line the bottom of your cart and to put in between layers of goodies so they don't chip! Nice video, thanks!
I live pretty much on the NC/SC state line 1 mile walk). I have watched basket weavers make the sweetgrass baskets(Charleston baskets). Once in the Pecan Festival in Florence,SC & along the side of the road at a stand in Mount Pleasant or Charleston, SC. I can’t remember bc it was back in the 80’s. It is awesome to watch. They are so beautiful.
Thank you for showing us the beautiful Fenton basket. Your German elephant is an egg cup. In a recent video you picked up a mother and baby duck that were Danish teak. I told my mom about them because she has them us an extra duckling which is broken. Mom also has a mouse from the same range but one ear is slighly chewed and the tail has been chewed - chewed by me when I was a baby. Thank you for bringing forth that memory from my mom.
Yes , I love the idea of being able to rent a “ shelving unit “ for new people who would like to get it a try . ( But , not be overwhelmed . ) I hope you do this when you open your shop , though sadly I am not local . 😢 Otherwise , O would give it a try . 👍🏻😁
Glad to hear that you are keeping one of the rings !!! Turquoise and silver is my FAVORITE jewelry combo . I have a “ big chunker 🤪” statement ring that I gave to MYSELF for Christmas one year !!! 😆 I LOVE it , and wear it all of the time !!!! It makes me smile every time I look at it , not only because it is gorgeous but because I BOUGHT IT FOR MYSELF!!!!! 😂😂🎁🎄🎁🎄
Because you would want to keep it? Or you think no one else would want it? From my understanding, if you love it, someone else out there will love it too! 😊
If you think teapots are the bane of your existence, try this: my mother passed away and left me, her only child, OVER FIVE HUNDRED TEAPOTS!!! She had other large collections too, but the teapots were overwhelming!
Remember: 20% off is 80% ON... So multiply by 8 & move the decimal point to get your lower price. $7 x 8 = $56 so that's $5.60. That skips the subtraction step. It's a little tougher if not a multiple if 10 (like 15% off.)
The small hole in the top of elephant is so it would not explode in the kiln when fired. Pieces need hole to release the pressure inside of them from moisture in the clay.
Percentages: I don't know if this would be easier, but here's how I ballpark a price. If something is 30% off, you're paying 70%. So, if something is, say, $10, I multiply by 7 (from 70%) by the first number 1 (from $10) and know I'm paying $7. If it's $20 and 30% off multiply 7x2 and know I'm paying $14. This is just something I do in my head so I don't even know if it will make sense to anyone else.
I use a similar method. I first figure out what 10% is( just by moving the decimal one spot to the left in the price- 10% of $20 is $2) and then I multiply that by 2 for 20%, 3 for 30%, 4 for 40%, etc and then subtract that from the original number. *This explanation seemed a lot simpler before I tried to write it all out.
I have never been a thrifted. I always found it mundane and boring. That is because I didnt know treasures from junk. But I am learning. And now I am finding the deep desire to go picking through everything I have ever looked at and turn it upside down to see where and who made it.
🦋Here in NC there is no Savers. When I lived in NY, I would go to Connecticut thrift shopping. Savers use to be the best place to go for lower prices. Then I noticed they changed, and the prices were ridiculously high.
I need to venture a guess why joselyn and sue arent shopping together right now, covid 19. Respect for possibilities for infection. Life is weird right now and new norms even temporary need to be observed. Like she has stated their friendship is not a subject for discussion. Things can not be like the past. Sues channel is called sue me and there is a link in the description. Tune in, lots of different learning opportunities. Stay safe
You may know this but the R.S. Tillowitz is from the same porcelain maker as R.S. Prussia. Reinhold's factories followed the ever-changing geography of the wars in Europe. I love that porcelain and would've grabbed it. The Japanese pieces are beautiful too, and I love them both, but there is more of a light, Romantic influence in the Euro.
LOVE IT! "Me and Fenton get into trouble together." Haha! I just lucked into 2 Fenton swung vases at my GW -- a 26" green hobnail and a 16" pink thumbprint. I thought about YOU immediately as I grabbed them off the top shelf and squealed (reminiscent of your Haeger dogs moment.) LOL! I'll be showing that moment in my next vid. (Thursday)
Isn't it fun to have someone to go shopping with all the time? As you walk imagine over a hundred people trying to peek over your shoulder and of course, none of us would be quiet "why didn't you pick up that vase" "What so special about that" "Do you think this is old enough to be vintage?" Maybe its better if you can't hear us.
Haven't been able to watch you in a couple of months. I am THRILLED to get to indulge in bunches of your cool content today! Blessings from Michigan :D
It makes me crazy hearing that! Like fingernails on a chalkboard! I thought it was someone dragging something metal across the floor over and over! 😆 Now that I know what it is maybe I can bear it! 💕💕💕
I love that little piggy bank. The only way to get the coins out is to insert the flat blade of a knife and shake the whole thing upside down. The coins flatten against the blade and drop out. Any table knife will do. With an opening that big you can do that and not have to break the little bank.
Hi I'm watching you from Guatemala I have seen many of your videos and enjoy very much! I have noticed that you have strayed away from glass a lot to pottery. I have purchased quite a few of Glas articles lately because I watch you. Could you please talk and show us a little more of porcelain and glass thankyou and love how upbeat you always are!
So I wanted to share with you the commercials so far today in your videos have been for Starbucks. I know you don't pick them but it seems fitting that they are on your channel as you go there a lot.
Oh my the bowl at 5:10 is epic! I collect those! At 23:41 the portrait vase on the second tier of the round display is stunning. I wanted to reach through my phone and get them both!
At 16:32 when you were looking at the horses in the case, there was a set of what looked like nodding skulls right next to them. I couldn't read the tag to see how much they were. Did you get them too?
Does anyone know why barbed wire is a decoration on Pyrex?(or whatever that was). It seems a VERY odd thing to me. Loved the trinket boxes and especially that they come with other little objects. Never seen that here in Australia 🤔😐. Did you go back for the little horses in the cabinet? It's strange I know but seeing you US lovelies sweating is great. As you know we are in winter DownUnder and it tends to make me feel like the sun is lost to us forever but seeing you guys have it makes me happy! I know, strange! 😆😆😆
I love the little horse planters! Is Red Ware something special? I hear people mention it and buy it, but I don’t understand the attraction - is it rare? Thank you! 💖
I’m thinking of starting to resell, I don’t know the first thing about what to look for, I watch you and say I would have picked up so many things hahaha how would I get started?
Love when u do fleamarket the. Then goodwill. Can't see to like u doing antiques shops its not really a hunt as already been found and on sale that's why fleamarket and estate sales thrill of finding the cool stuff
These two vids Joc is being chased by a flock of fowl. Everywhere she went a bird stalked her. I had to laugh "I'm not buying a ceramic duck!" I was out this morning and found a Haeger duck and exclaimed ""That duck is coming with me!" hehehehehehe*
Hi Diana She got the jewelry in the antique mall. The episode before this one. She was wearing one of the rings in todays episode 07/29. I am sure she will show us tomorrow in the live haul🙂 Stay safe
Is it just me but I get so satisfied when you put the items in your cart / it's like "I" just bought something! I'm silly but I do love it!
That’s so awesome!
Rothfl... I feel the same way!!!
@@margaritaderose6805 YES YES YES~~~ LOL
Living vicariously! I do the same thing!
Yes. I get that too. It fulfilled my want to shop and buy stuff without spending my own money haha
Does anyone else watch her videos to help you fall asleep? So relaxing. Better than ASMR.
Me too... except when there are crying children and tape dispensers ruining the zen.
I just want to thank you for showing the difference between dishes or glass. I’ve learned so much from your videos! Helps a newbie a lot!!
The German elephant would be great with a small air plant in it!
I miss you and Sue doing your shopping...its not the same without her.....hope nothing bad happened....
I don't miss the long explanations. I kept yelling... "Stop talking and keep shopping!"
Can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos and how informative they are. You are a wealth of information. Thank you.
The sound of the tape is killing me! Thanks for taking me shopping again.
me too omg
Someone commented that they feel like they’re shopping with you and YES! I can relate! I love the big Boston Terrier at that one booth!
I was digging the Boston Terrier myself. Wondering if its heavy door stop perhaps. I own 2 Bostons and I simply adore them 🥰😍🥰😍😍
Brenda Edward's #1 Now I have one too Brenda and I feel like that’s why my eye went straight for it. 😌😌😌
Ive noticed the boston also
I have one of the Boston terrier door stops. Wish I had a real Boston terrier! They are terrific!
Went on vacay and left my electronics home so I'm binge watching a week's worth of vids. Tried antiquing at our destination. There were no bargains to be had. I guess the saying there's no place like home could mean in vintage shopping too.
I really miss you and Sue shopping together. When will y’all be able to go out together gain?
You should really consider bringing some towels with you to line the bottom of your cart and to put in between layers of goodies so they don't chip!
Nice video, thanks!

Is, Sue still staying in? Miss seeing her shopping with you. ☹️
Hope she is okay?
Hey Jocelyn! I live in the Charleston, SC area. The baskets are called sweet grass baskets!
Thank you for showing us the beautiful Fenton basket. Your German elephant is an egg cup.

My favorite Thrift channel.

I agree. I would love a spot at 🍌 Banana Box Antiques! 🍌
Janice Hammersmith , sorry to hear that !! But I like that you said , “ for the time being ! “ Good luck in the future !!
I think it's neat that they do the shelf rentals.
Hey the dragonware piece is cute.....we found a set at a yard sale recently and it’s in our video today!😊💙🧡
The horse and cart pair are adorable. Look forward to finding them on your eBay Page. 😁😎😁
was just going to post that its a good thing she bought both of them since I believe they are bookends
OH, Jocelyn!! Great APPLE teapot for teachers!!! BUY! BUY!! Thank you 😊
I’m so addicted to this channel now!😂
I like to suggest that you bring with you a towel so you put it in the bottom of the cart to protect the stuff you put in the cart. just an idea.
Glad to hear that you are keeping one of the rings !!! Turquoise and silver is my FAVORITE jewelry combo . Great pieces. I've said this b4 and I'll say it again "how do you not keep everything? I'm not sure I'd have the willpower lol😉
I want that horse planter! Anything with horses... I'm like you with birds!!
I believe the horses are bookends so its a good thing you bought both of them I hope you find out and sell them as a pair.
So many pieces that speak to me for their beauty, whimsy, oddity. I would be sorely challenged to buy appropriately for resale.
I can’t get over how well some milk glass is doing these days! ♥️
Because you would want to keep it?
Or you think no one else would want it?
From my understanding, if you love it, someone else out there will love it too! 😊

Out of all the videos from the people Thrifty!! I love watching your's the most!!! Absolutely interesting!!
😂 You said " Savers " like Seinfeld would say " Newman ".🤣
Oh my gosh, she did!! 😂
Hahah.

The little white pitcher with the multi colored apples!! BUY, BUY, BUY!!! 😂

My favorite find...the oblong...flowered plate

I always use this method!

Oh my gosh I need the corgi!! Looks just like my baby, Winnie💛 I absolutely love your videos, I look forward to them everyday😊
I was thinking the same thing. My daughter has a tri-color corgi and I'm always looking for corgi decor for her.

I love West Coast pottery! I have a wall pocket in the same coloring as that bird you picked up.
the green bud vase looks like a celadon glaze, that oriental jade color glaze. Really pretty..
LOVED THE LITTLE DISH YOU HELD AT 13:43 , BUT YOU PUT IT BACK TOO !!
I love the shelf rentals vs the booth.
Does Sue ever shop with Jocelyn anymore? Wondering if I miss those videos.
Kathy Prescott Parker not anymore & is not discussing why. Keeping private
I love the marigold vase
Saw uranium glass juicer and it looked like 2 uranium dishes near the juicer. Very pretty
THAT BOWL AT 5:23 WAS FABULOUS !!!!!!!!!!!! AND YOU LEFT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the camera. It will go great with the other one. Very interesting collection to start.
You may know this but the R.S. Tillowitz is from the same porcelain maker as R.S. Prussia. Reinhold's factories followed the ever-changing geography of the wars in Europe. The little mouse in The mousetrap I had two of those exact same mice when I was a teenager in the 70s in Idaho.

Im a huge fan of the European paint over the Noritaki pieces, however they are both really nice

HahHa. I love that analogy! It’s perfect!
Did anyone else notice the art glass cockatiel at 15:05? I'm surprised Jocelyn didn't pick that up :)
I saw it. She probably didn’t notice it
Haven't been able to watch you in a couple of months. I am THRILLED to get to indulge in bunches of your cool content today! Blessings from Michigan :D
The Anchor Hocking Forest Green Bubble Glasses. Awww I spotted them in a shelf. I love them (in green) and hope to complete a whole set one day. 🤓
Have you looked to see if Scott has any at the Old Curiosity Shop?
Good grief, I want to tape the phantom sellotape user’s hands together 😬
Hahaha. I thought it was funny. I love how the background noise follows me.
omg TRUTHS
It makes me crazy hearing that! Like fingernails on a chalkboard! I thought it was someone dragging something metal across the floor over and over! 😆 Now that I know what it is maybe I can bear it! 💕💕💕
I kept thinking they will be done soon....nope they just keep going ;)
Charlotte I couldn’t identify the sound even though it was so familiar! Thank you.
Jocelyn, I have been really enjoying you videos.
I love that little piggy bank. The only way to get the coins out is to insert the flat blade of a knife and shake the whole thing upside down. The coins flatten against the blade and drop out. Any table knife will do. With an opening that big you can do that and not have to break the little bank.
So much nicer than goodwill. You could put a little plant in the elephant.
The two matching horse planters, I think are book ends.
Love the two chariot planters .
The wooden handled rolling pins with red handles is a good reseller!
Jocelyn, will you be shopping with Sue again?? Just wondering, its been a long time! Thx!
I was wondering that too. They are so great together!
So I wanted to share with you the commercials so far today in your videos have been for Starbucks. I know you don't pick them but it seems fitting that they are on your channel as you go there a lot.
You know I love my Starbucks! ☕️
Those antique malls just overwhelm me!
Oh my the bowl at 5:10 is epic! I collect those!
At 23:41 the portrait vase on the second tier of the round display is stunning. I wanted to reach through my phone and get them both!
Thanks for the videos!
Phew I'm glad you didn't get the Corgi as I would have HAD to buy it! LOL! My daughter is Corgi crazy!
Just HOW big was that roll of sellotape ??? xx Janie Dundee
I am always on the lookout for 👀cups and saucers with the month on cup and saucer. They are so rare or maybe I don't get out enough.
AT :37 NEXT TO THE BEAR, YOU SHOULD HAVE GOT THE BLUE BOY/GIRL PLANTER, AT HALF OFF, IT WAS A FANTASTIC DEAL, AND VERY CUTE
I loved that planter!
@@alyshaelkin3050 she doesn't listen to us ,does she? lol
Great shopping trip !!
At 16:32 when you were looking at the horses in the case, there was a set of what looked like nodding skulls right next to them. I couldn't read the tag to see how much they were. Did you get them too?
Darlene Langley I noticed them too. They were $55. I think that was a fair bit more than they paid for the last set.
Just love watching your video .
Does anyone know why barbed wire is a decoration on Pyrex?(or whatever that was). It seems a VERY odd thing to me. Loved the trinket boxes and especially that they come with other little objects. Would you consider teaching classes on Silkshare or some other platform? I’d love to learn more on how to spot good vintage stuff!
Every video is a great lesson. I especially liked the Noritake explanation at 13:05.
Hey I saw you at the Thrift store yesterday!! Congrats on your page!
Why is someone following you around with a package tape dispenser? I thought at first someone was making rude sounds. 🤣
The ducks at 2:16 are amazing
Elephant could be an incense stick burner. Place the stick in the hole and burnn
I learn so much from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
at 4:33 there's a green wicker shelf thing, i just got that at goodwill recently. the same one for a few bucks!
Maybe you should bring a few sheet of bubble wrap with you so you can load your cart more safely.
Fun shopping with you.
The set of puppies with fur on them for, I think, $4 towards the end of the video(on the round table)...Oh My heart!!!
Those fish by the Fenton basket!😍
Love when u do fleamarket the. Then goodwill. Can't see to like u doing antiques shops its not really a hunt as already been found and on sale that's why fleamarket and estate sales thrill of finding the cool stuff
Thanks for sharing and caring! Stay Safe!
These two vids Joc is being chased by a flock of fowl. Everywhere she went a bird stalked her. I had to laugh "I'm not buying a ceramic duck!" I was out this morning and found a Haeger duck and exclaimed ""That duck is coming with me!" hehehehehehe*
Hahaha. A Haeger Duck is the exception, of course.
wait! were the set of six smalls.....six or seven??? lol.....Yay part two was worth waiting for :D as usual...thanks for all that you do!
10:35 there was a colourful set of canisters.
Can't wait to see all the jewelery you got🤗 I love native american turqoise jewelery but it's hard to find in Denmark.
Stay safe🌞
Rikke Meek where the heck was the jewelry? In this video?
Hi Diana
She got the jewelry in the antique mall. The episode before this one. She was wearing one of the rings in todays episode 07/29. I am sure she will show us tomorrow in the live haul🙂
Stay safe
How cute is that pink mouse?!!
