Millie and Hope Katana, both of them are amazing singers! Makes it so much better that they actually sing in real life too, so it's their real voices:')
Ahaha love this song! Denzils face is hilarious. Ahahaha matts 'dancing' is even funnier!!!!! And by the way it's not the talent show its the school orchestra... even though there is singing!!!
hahahah, funniest thing I've heard, someone think waterloo road is trying to rip off glee? It's like they are basing the whole of waterloo road off 2 mins of a school performance xD
It's also funny how a lot of Americas biggest dramas and comedies are remakes of British shows, created by Brits and/or star Brits. Whereas the only things we copy from America is game or quiz shows.
I think this is one of Matt's best productions. I would love to see the full episodes again. Series 1 to 9. Me and my friends would like to watch them all again if possible
I really just waded through 140 comments at 1 in the morning to find out just how this mysterious "Jeremy Finch" everyone was ranting about managed to upset the entire comments section so deeply eight years ago. This is what Lockdown has done to me. Update: I delved even further into internet-boredom and actually clicked his channel. I have now aquired the knowledge that Jeremy-Finch-the-internet-troll-from-eight-years-ago-who-thought-Waterloo-Road-ripped-off-Glee also happens to be... a Trump supporter. What a revelation that no-one would ever have guessed. My life is fulfilled. Okay, now I'm going to bed.
@jeremyfinch This video is simply a preview of an upcoming episode. Waterloo Road is a drama based on school students. In this episode, the students put on a small talent show (which is a common event in most British high schools). Are you saying that no UK shows can have singing teens because its a mimic? The singing/performing aspect is just on tiny story line over a few episodes (if you watched the show regularly, you'd understand). & In fact, Waterloo Road piloted over 3 years before Glee.
So just because music was involved it is trying to be like Glee.... This was about the ONLY episode which contained music! I don't see how it is like Glee in the slightest, and I'm not even sure you've watched that many episodes of this show. Watch the latest episodes and then tell me its still copying Glee. I'm baffled why you're comparing a mature drama which deals with murder, drugs, mental issues, violence and death with something like Glee
@jeremyfinch this isn't a Glee programme. It's a drama based in a school which is sometimes realistic. This ^ has nothing to do with the actual programme really.
It is not uncommon to have talent shows similar to this in the uk. The school near me does a similar talent show to this, every christmas for the past 10 years! And was never meant to copy glee or high school musical at all.
My my at Waterloo Napoleon did surrender, Oh yeah and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way The history book on the shelf Is always repeating itself Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war Promise to love you for ever more, Couldnt escape if I wanted to Knowing my fate is to be with you Finally facing my Waterloo My my I tried to hold you back but you were stronger Oh yeah and now it seems my only chance is giving up the fight And how could I ever refuse I feel like I win when I lose
@jeremyfinch calm down! like everyone else said - its a school based drama, in which the students rarely sing. they're not trying to be like Glee! its just a talent show :P
@jeremeyfinch they hardly ever sing in it. Its a drama and was made much earlier than GLEE so you need to get your f*cking facts straight before you start getting your knickers in a twist!!
waterloo road's gone crap since well sereis 7. the scottish version makes ou that teaching in british schools is really easy. all the classes are really quiet and well behaved. they need to bring steph back and focus more on the lessons the older series were better. also they try to pack more drama into each episode that makes it less realisitc. they shud follow the plot of the older epsiodes. sian also really gets on my nerves now.
@TwilightBellaForever true, but perhaps the writers are lacking ideas after almost 7 series? i'll admit that sometimes the storylines can be unimaginative, but i still don't think Waterloo Rd are copying Glee. (and Glee clearly has better singers, because singing is the whole heart of the show...)
It annoys me that it's so evident these kids are not playing that backing track. The curtain should open, revealing grizzled, veteran session musicians, some slightly bitter ( "I auditioned for Slade, but I never went for me call-back...") others reminiscing ("oh aye, I played with all the greats - McCartney, Elton John, Isla St.Claire...")
I love the song (since ever) and it's a good version. But they clap on 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4 (including the conductor). That hurts a musician's heart! :-(
If we compared all TV shows that were filmed in England to be exactly like England, then everyone would be dead. In the real England, CCTV and a burglar alarm would have been installed in the Queen Vic by now, the amount of murders that have gone on in Eastenders. But they don't, because it wouldn't be entertaining. I think everyone is just taking everything too seriously, and that they should just sit back, enjoy the programme and be entertained.
@TwilightBellaForever I totally agree - i rarely watch Glee, but i never miss an episode of Waterloo Road :) it is slipping slightly but the majority of story lines are still unique and interesting :)
